      Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Russell Reynolds full-time

      Pros

      - Great Professional Environment - Unique discretionary and rewarding bonus system - Smart compensation - Globally very integrated and effective collaboration within offices/ practices - Great work systems and IT - The offices are at great locations and they take care of employees

      Cons

      - Conservative and the India office has too many leadership changes - Country Leader in India (sometimes expats) does not have P&L and hence can drag the full firm down - Have a bias for strategy consulting folks, the culture of the firm lacks diversity

I worked at Russell Reynolds full-time for more than a year

      Pros

One of several search firms capable of executing mandates globally at the highest levels. Some very smart employees, partic in assessment biz.

      Cons

Expansion beyond Search and traditionally associated services is a tough journey as other roles/kinds of work are not well understood.

      Pros

Probably the highest quality and most meritocratic, performance focused of the top 5 global search & assessment firms. Great at nurturing and developing those who genuinely contribute and are prepared to work hard to progress their careers

      Cons

Have to be prepared to work hard and be measured against results and performance

      Advice to Management

Keep communicating internally as much as possible and recognise those who genuinely live the firm’s values

      Pros

Brand reputation provides access to impressive network

      Cons

As a more junior employee development options feel limited

      Advice to Management

Design more appealing career paths for youngsters Stop the feeling that everyone bar consultants is support staff

I have been working at Russell Reynolds full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Flexible work hours if you need it, always something to learn, good parties, volunteer days

      Cons

No upward mobility for EAs, lead EAs have too much power with little to no accountability, if you’re on someone’s bad side it effects your day to day

      Advice to Management

Have an HR person in the office or at least have a safe space for EAs to speak up and feel heard and not gossiped about

I worked at Russell Reynolds for more than 3 years

      Pros

Interesting projects, smart colleagues, continuous improvement mindset. Being able to work with top executives.

      Cons

Different job categories treated very differently, consultants are the kings, researchers, knowledge specialists and assistants not really cared for. Ways of working depend lot on the office, and project team. Knowledge sharing and management not on the level they should be, due to internal competition. Workload not planned and proactively managed, can be heavy. Big egos among consultants and researchers, quite hierarchical....

      Advice to Management

Researchers and assistants run the show, they should be given the credit they deserve. Incentives put on knowledge sharing.
