I worked at Ryder System full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Coworkers are great and considered as family. Lots of internal training at every level for almost everything. Promotions within company Good Benefits and insurance Pay is not too bad for all things considered

    Cons

Service Managers don't all treat their mechanics right and don't take care of them, only care about their own numbers for their bonus Management not always trained properly Don't take care of the long time seniority mechanics Fire too many good long time mechanics and drivers for stupid things that usually come from improper/lack of training

I have been working at Ryder System full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Benefits Decent Pay Great training for employees to take advantage of. Can be a good work environment, given the employees at shop.

    Cons

The higher ups in the company do not see day to day at the location. The pay could be so much better. Pay is somewhat competitive based on your shop location.

I have been working at Ryder System full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Average pay For Diesel Technicians -Awesome training program. -Overtime

    Cons

-Micro managing -There is no advancement opportunities for Technicians unless they have a degree. You can be there for 20+ years and you apply for a supervisor position you will not get it. An average Jo with a piece of paper that has no experience on Tractor Trailers will get it before anyone. Witnessed first hand this experience. -Bad employee Moral.

I worked at Ryder System full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Clean neat shops to work in, most shop equipment is in working order, oem training available, trucks are mostly newer ,and for the most part clean

    Cons

Almost Too many to list here...the company has no loyalty to its workers, there are way too many bs rule changes, and they happen way to often...they "outlaw" a tool once any mechanic in the whole organization gets injured using it...complete bs! Benefits are total crapcant move up in the company unless your a brown noser....any hard work you do WILL get unnoticed!

I worked at Ryder System full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If your looking for a company that does business in a way that could only be described as unethical dishonest and gets you yelled at by customers on a regular basis you'll love working for Ryder the day I gave notice was the best work day I had.

    Cons

The lies the finger pointing the buck passing the worst part was being forced to brake the law and in danger the public but lying to the customers to cover up for shop and general managers was no picnic either Ryder is not only a horrible company that cares nothing about their employees they care nothing about the public safety and the public is their customers ethics and standards just lip service at Ryder.
