    I have been working at Ryder System full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Good paid time off. 2 weeks vacation, 1 week sick, 2 personal days from day 1. After 5 years 3 weeks vacation!!

    Cons

    Racist, good old boy practices. Diversity means White women sprinkled with an African American and a Latina here and there. Furthermore any money is made at the top. There is zero dollar budgeting and corporate just doesn't care about the quality of work to the customers, just enough to get by with customers. The only loyalty is to stockholders.

    Advice to Management

    Be fair in hiring and promotion practices. Stop being a racist good old boy network. See pictures of their sales meetings. Its all WHITE, and there no problem with that at all.

    Pros

    As a Rental Sales Rep, you an earn a lot of overtime every week. It makes a difference in your checks.

    Cons

    Management will force you to never say no to customers even if you do not have inventory. They expect trucks to magically appear. You will have to deal with angry customers who you accepted a reservation for with out having inventory.

    Advice to Management

    Give employees who have been with the company a chance for promotion instead of promoting employees who have been with the company 6 months or less.

    Pros

    They have a solid leadership development training program, access to a vast knowledge bank that will help with your current position and professional career, and Fortune 500 benefits.

    Cons

    pay not quite on par with expected work, but when is it ever. Mid level management is beaten down by upper management for certain goals then the front line employees get the brunt end from the midlevels getting beat up all day.

    Advice to Management

    Don't put so much focus on petty daily reports and beat up the frontline when they aren't perfect right away since they really don't drive the business.

    Pros

    Above average hourly pay. Ability to move up in the company. Flexible. Fast pace environment. Incredible training program.

    Cons

    You will be stressed out everyday...it's inevitable. Management will throw you under the bus to cover themselves. Rarely any reward for the hard for and hours you put in everyday.

    Advice to Management

    Stop promoting salesmen into management positions. They don't know how to be leaders/managers. Instead, all they do is become a dictator, which demotivates the employees and salesmen underneath them.

    Pay can be better directors are jerks ryder service sucks they cant fix trucks to stay on the word

    Management doesn't care enough about their employees Do not train employees well The pay was not nearly enough given the responsibilities on a daily basis

    Pros

    Good pay and benefits, got to travel for training to Chicago and Miami, most people are laid back, like to have a good time.

    Cons

    Management expects entirely too much, hard work is not compensated or recognized, passive aggressive work environment people love to yell through email.

    Advice to Management

    Recognize talent and promote them, delegate the work amongst the rental reps and sales team more efficiently so as one does not feel like a slave to the other
