Cons

In terms of business continuity, there is none; the powers at the helm sit across the dinner table from one another and the empire is run accordingly. Imagine a 1940's German 'Come dine with me' episode. Surprisingly however, despite this board level stability - there is anything but that across the rest of the company but this owes a lot to the Directors themselves. Had I not have spent a decent amount of time in some of these individuals offices, I could jest that they vomit on hearing their minions/employees names. Except I am not jesting - their walls are covered, top to bottom, front to back in vomit, from recognising that they employ <barf> actual real people, with real feelings and real home lives. Competency is rewarded with more work, until the point at which your competency walls burst. By then, the company will disown you and insist that your face be used to buff the shoes of the King and Queen. IF you are worthy. If you are an SDM - prepare for hell. You may even wish for it; having observed from the outside, this is possibly the worst existence known to man. To say that turnover is stupidly high would be an understatement, to say that management competency exists in that 'vertical' would be an illusion and to imply that there is any ability to manage the service at all implies heavily that there is an operational team behind you that are willing to deliver - or a sales function that are willing to support you. Go pick some ex-SDM's from SCC and ask them how much they enjoyed their time there. Customer's can be awful and I am sure/know that SCC has a number of awful customers. But saying 'no' to them by default, then asking them for money, and then saying 'no' to them again is clearly conducive to a good business relationship; if you enjoying being a 'no' person, then this is the place for you! Home working is permitted, but only if your name begins with a 'P' and rhymes with 'taller' - or if you happen to be married to said individual. For everyone else, 'home working' is referred to as 'annual leave' - but you had best leave your phone on so that you can be contacted. Just in case. I could continue all day, but I feel the picture is fairly well drawn. Oh and Sir Peter contributes a matched pension of up to 1% himself (well, sort of, it is via the workplace pension scheme that enforced this violation of his money - dirty communist policies stealing all of his hard earned and well deserved cash).
