I have been working at Sagora Senior Living full-time

    Pros

Love the people I work with

    Cons

Most of my complaints are with the corporate office. The salary could be better. People that do not understand how a department works should not make rules for that department.

I have been working at Sagora Senior Living full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The corporate team strives hard daily to provide the necessary tool, resources and support that is needed for those of us at the community level. Community leaders have support from each other within their region and not one time have I felt like I’ve been set up to fail or that I will fail. My teams have been very successful and our residents are genuinely pleased with the services and amenities we provide. Fun is at the core of everything we do! Love working for this company. It is not “work”; it is a part of my life.

    Cons

None. This company has done an amazing job from the President if the company to our Regional support...my community knows we have a slew of individuals readily available if/when we need them.

"Toxic environment and atrociously bad and tone deaf senior "leadership""

I worked at Sagora Senior Living full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Resident first philosophy. The company does a great job of responding to all social media inquiries and sees things only in "rose-colored" glasses, creating a perception of "listening" and working daily to become better in their well-crafted and worded responses. More than a handful of very passionate and competent associates at different positions within the communities that continue to do amazing things for the residents and their staff (and not directed to by home office). They do it because it is their passion and calling and they do it with integrity, even when no one else is looking. Sagora should do everything they can to recognize and reward these people because if you don't, some other company will.

    Cons

Resident first philosophy looks pretty to hang up on the wall, but it was (and is) all about "billables, i.e. ancillary services" for each department within the community and what did they bring in on a monthly basis in revenue. Senior leadership, particularly at the very top in Operations, leads by fear and causes unnecessary turnover due to her own insecurities. Lacks emotional composure and integrity to successfully lead an organization to prosperity. Transparency only runs in one direction (from the very top) and is not allowed to be reciprocal without negative, reactionary consequences. Control at the very top. The hand-holding is a bit much. Almost nothing that is visible, i.e. seen on social media, etc. can be done, said, spoken, or responded to without approval from the lady in charge. If you don't trust your team of leaders to be able to handle a situation with tact, professionalism, or expertise, perhaps that actually says more about you and less about them.

I worked at Sagora Senior Living full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The residents and higher up sales. I genuinely enjoyed working with them, and enjoyed their guidance.

    Cons

Poor HR, cannot trust staff members that you should be able to trust. I was physically threatened by my direct supervisor multiple times. I would be called while at work preforming my job duties, and would be told “YOU’RE DONE. YOU’RE OUT.” When this individual was having a bad day. Constantly their personal life was brought into work. I was consistently harassed. Never had I EVER been written up. I would be screamed at, made to not sit with my coworkers in times of retaliation. I would be accused of different things, although I would be given a specific task list that did not pertain to my specific job. I worked as an assistant and would be made to do all tours, although this was my first dip into sales and marketing, I would be threatened had I not made a sale off the bat, by said supervisor. When it finally went to corporate it was handled like a joke. All because this individual was bringing in revenue that month. Constantly they would take credit for the sales that I made, when they were bringing in ZERO individuals and NOT building relationships (who by the way compared my seniors to babies due to the fact “they needed to be coddled!” Which disgusted me!) because they were more concerned about who their boyfriend was talking to or seeing VS that month’s quota. While at work. It was a soap opera every day. As much as I miss my residents and doing what I love, I absolutely do NOT recommend this company. The way they handle hostile working environments is a joke! They will just fire you to keep it hush hush! As this happened to fellow employees who were also abused by this individual. I thankfully left and never came back because I was through with the constant emotional and mental stress this individual purposely inflicted on me. But would batter her eyes and make it seem like she could never react that way.
