      Pros

Great place for young talent, hands on training on the job. Arguably the most talented young work force in the world. You be able to take responsibility of duties in a short while that you might not be able to get in other companies, which exposes you to real world experience on the job.

      Cons

You have to be an Italian to grow and go far with the company, salary is good but they still have a long way to go.

A former gem transformed into crap

      Pros

Very few valid people even though the best ones already left the company

      Cons

Forget about your career here. Either you know somebody/you are friend with/a relative was /is an executive manager/your boss likes you or your career ends the day you enter here. Typical Italian company where 90 / 95% of the executives are in that position because of the reasons given above (friend with, relative of, lover of etc etc). One of the comments about one of the fresh new executive managers was: A person who made of ambushing her reason of life...what was the result? EXECUTIVE MANAGER...STAY AWAY!

Not recommended company for fresh graduates

7 Mar 2014 - Fresh Graduate Engineer in Jakarta
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

-if you get some luck , u will be assigned to saipem engineering centre, gain alot of work experiences. -multicultural company so will have a lot of connection around the world. -you will have experience with big greenfield project EPCIC -health insurance is good. -good working situation -good training quality but very minimal frequency. - Project Sharing. if in your country has no project, you can also be involved for doing some project in another country.

      Cons

-Do not expect more if u are not italian and french. -less experience in project, since saipem just only dealt with big project and remotely directed from paris and milan. -there is no clear training development and further career path. retention time for assigned in project average around 3-7 months. -treatment for local engineer is not good, all rules controlled by expat. -Young graduate will be joined in YG program for about 3 years being Junior Engineer. fresh graduate engineer will be bounded for first year as contract employee in a year, and the second year will also be bounded again for one year as contract, for the third year u will be permanently hired. there is penalty if you hired by another company while you still be bounded with saipem. -you will be paid gross, no basic salary or other bonuses, just only overtime. there is compensation with inflation rate. -turn over of the employee is very high, since some of them never get satisfied with management treatment.

Saipem Project Sites_ Worst Place to work

20 Mar 2013 - Projects in Calgary, AB
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

A plus just to get experience in a relevant field, or to work and get industry exposure as a newcomer to Canada (especially for immigrants).

      Cons

Home office work environment in Calgary is ok, Project Sites like Horizon, Fort Mackay and Husky Project Site are the worst places to work. 12 people got fired since November 2012, 4- resigned, 4- removed from the site (Horizon), the only reason is that site management dont like them. 95% of management is Italian people. They come from a very different culture, they dont realize our values, respect, freedom and dignity in Canada. Their attitude and behaviour with site employees is worst. These sites are already a very stressed places and they increase more stress to their employees' work environment. They shout and yell at their employees very often. Most of the management have experience working in middle east, asian and africa, so they treat the employees in Canada likewise. They dont provide their emloyees with any kind trainings, professional development and very reluctant to share information with them and there is no learning culture. They don't have any work related ethics and have very poor relationship with their employees. Harrasment and bullying is very common. Employees are suffering alot, and while most of them are immigrants, and need experience in Canada for their future, so they are reluctant to complain or protest against this injustice.
