    Pros

The "brand name" of the company (As said by the coworkers working there), which you get to type on your resume and hence which should fetch a better job in the future. Discount coupons given to employees (25% off on Dealership price when you buy a Samsung manufactured electronic products) After working here , you sure will love your next job : If you have worked here, you get to see everything from dirty politics... to people who never work and to people who despite such an atmosphere still work hard. Trust me you will get to learn to endure and/ or face the worst things one can get on job. In this aspect, you sure will learn a loot.

    Cons

For the Samsung manufacturing unit (Noida, Phase 2) NO WORK LIFE BALANCE: Staying back after office hours is not only encouraged and appreciated but also enforced. Calendar offs are often made working and compensatory offs awarded can hardly be availed when needed.Diwali and winter breaks can be called off without any prior notice or the number of offs can be reduced without considering your plans just to meet... the "dynamic market demand". The top management is very INCONSIDERATE OF THE FEELINGS OF ITS EMPLOYEES. BAD WORK CULTURE: In terms of work culture this is the worst one can get. No proper understanding and learning is encouraged. Hard work is synonymous to staying back (Even if no one is working then). Show off matters and not the quality of work you do. NO MOTIVATION TO WORK: Appraisals are not based on one’s performance or hard-work, but on how well one can butter up their bosses, and stay back after office (only to avail the free snacks or use social networking profiles or messengers). NO SCOPE: No matter how hard you work for how many years there is hardly any scope further because the systems on which one works are all internally setup and one would not find anything similar anywhere else. NO PROPER TRAINING: I would suggest that freshers do not join a company like this where there is no proper training module. No one properly & completely knows the systems they are working on and hence they can only train you to run a part of it. NO FLEXIBILITY: in terms of working hours. Work from home is not an option too. (Does not mean once out from the office one does not have to work. On the contrary, one can be asked to come back even at 12 in the night). NO PROPER WORK DISTRIBUTION: Leaving a few people who actually work with dedication, there are two general rules you will observe : 1. The seniors only believe in dumping their work on juniors and blaming them for any short comings, instead of guiding and cautioning them against any unforeseen situation. 2 .Higher up the hierarchy u go, more unaware people are of their own systems. This is in sharp contrast to the work force of mostly all other companies I've heard off. Even if you are the youngest one in your team, you will be the one who should know all the processes and if not go to others (in other teams) and get the answers and then explain them to all others (who just want to take credit for your work or use that you explained in front of someone else to brag about what all they know). EMPLOYEES ARE NOT TREATED AS ASSETS BUT AS SLAVES : the worst thing is u can be compelled to work even if there is a curfew in the area, and absolutely no other company is working that day. A handful of people will be picked up, and even then u might be forced to stay after office hours in the company (desolate industrial area where which can be unsafe). If you refuse to stay, be sure to be rewarded by your boss, who threatens you by saying that he will fire you off ( pls note here : that no proper conveyance is provided even in case of late stays to drop people off to their homes. There usually only are buses or in exceptional cases shared cabs, which will depart if u do not make it by their departure time, to leave you wondering alone how you should go back home late in the night)

    Advice to Management

A company should gauge its success not only in terms of revenue it generates, but also in terms of employee satisfaction. Its not an advice.. it's something to really think about. The global surveys conducted by Samsung (SCI surveys, etc) are totally useless. Stop wasting time of employees by conducting them. Because no matter how much its written that "anonymity is guaranteed", people who rate their supervisors... with what they really deserve, are called and bashed up for their opinions. And no improvements are ever made.
