I worked at Slater & Gordon UK full-time for less than a year

    Pros

People you work with in the department, that is pretty much it.. Sorry the free ups of tea when machines work.. Maybe the ability to work from home.

    Cons

Unless you have a pretty face don’t expect much, only expect to get anywhere if you fit in. Expect all your hard work to be forgot about.

I worked at Slater & Gordon UK full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Cardiff office is in a nice location. Easily accessible and nicely situated should you wish you wander around Cardiff for lunch.

    Cons

I was treated horrendously during my time at the company. I experienced a traumatic family event and deterioration in mental health and ability to carry out my normal working capacity. After making my manager aware of my struggle within weeks, I was told “HR will be in touch” but that I was to maintain a usual standard of work and meet time recording and billing targets. The first time that I heard from HR was 4 months later immediately after I had to take a period of sick leave due to my mental condition. This meeting was only to discuss my return to work. As suggested by my GP, I underwent a phased return. Upon agreeing the phased return with the company I received an email from my manager breaking down the expected targets that corresponded with the time I would be working. Also confirmation that some of my cases that I had been progressing for almost a year and were now close to completion, would be transferred to her as she had taken calls from the clients during my sick leave. The next time I ever heard from HR was 3 months later to discuss parting ways with the company. It was the happiest I had felt all year. OH, and due to a 5% decrease in new cases for the year due to COVID-19 they announced that the bonus scheme was being reduced by 50%. You will also be asked to complete 2 or 3 audits of cases per month in your own time on top of billing 7.5hrs per day. All the best. Absolutely laughable management and HR teams.

I worked at Slater & Gordon UK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The canteen which is called the deck

    Cons

Too many files, pressure, working day and night and management don't care how hard you work as they keep piling on the pressure until you become sick and they still only care about billing rather than the employees health
