I worked at Sodexo full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Advancement great customer service good benefits management was great and my customers were awesome

      Cons

Gossip in the workplace supervisors not having enough training to watch their mouth treat everybody fairly and equally as some of the problems I need to address or customer service unless disrespecting the customer

      Advice to Management

Don't judge everyone from their past people learn from their past it should be an open and closed book because people don't want to relive their past stop gossip in the workplace treat everyone fairly more training of what not to do in the workplace train to be less judgmental it is supposed to be a diversity employment remind people they don't all have the same background don't judge because their background is not...

I worked at Sodexo full-time for more than a year

      Pros

      - GREAT pto - good benefits - huge company which means lots of opportunity to move up/change career direction (especially if you're willing to move) - has accounts literally all over the world - company genuinely seems to care about their employees - values as far as sustainability/the environment, work life balance, committed to fighting hunger, etc - decent pay - regional and district managers are pretty helpful and...

      Cons

I feel like I could write an entire book about my experience but I'll try and keep it short. First off, the pay at initial hire seemed extremely fair if you compare salaries with similar titles around the country. HOWEVER, once you really get into the job you feel like the pay is way too low for the amount of work the position actually entails. Reading the job description seems very fair for the wage, but there's so many...

      Advice to Management

      - Pay employees based on the actual responsibility required for the job at the specific account. All accounts require different things and should be paid accordingly. Smaller accounts that only have 1 marketing person should pay better than larger accounts who have shared responsibilities. - Increase your standard annual raises (not even $1 for working my @$$ off all year, really?!) - Find a way to have a better flow...

      Pros

      Great Culture. Good benefits.

      Cons

Needs to invest in robust sales training. Needs to invest in technical services and hiring the right resources to drive business. Skeleton crew in FM

      I worked at Sodexo full-time

      Pros

Competitive salary, good benefits, holidays and PTO.

      Cons

For a company that always heavily promotes its emphasis on teamwork and quality of life, Sodexo is no different from any other corporation. If it sees an opportunity to cut expenses by cutting positions, Sodexo won't hesitate. What's even worse, severance packages have been replaced with "unemployment insurance." This means you don't get your severance in a lump sum, it's dependent on the former employee filing for unemployment....

      Advice to Management

Sodexo's top-down management mentality is so systemic, I doubt change is possible.

I have been working at Sodexo full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Good benefits, 4 weeks PTO all in, accrued sick leave, health/dental/vision. Nice people, minimal micro-management. Safety culture is very strong. Great inclusion/diversity classes for new managers.

      Cons

Silo mentality, somewhat constrained in terms of job opportunities. Limited room for growth once you reach a certain point. Top down interaction nonexistent. They have good programs in place for mentoring/growth, but I haven't really seen them implemented. Annual review process is a bit of a joke, really poor layout, and doesn't pertain to everyone's job responsibilities... It's more complicated and cumbersome than necessary....

      Advice to Management

Upper management-Make an effort to build a rapport with your employees; visit not only when there is an issue, but also to get to know the people working for you, at all levels. Offer further education courses; they are available, but often he business units don't have money in the budget to send people.
