I worked at Sodexo full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good benefits I.E. insurance, life insurance, dental, 401K. Room to grow, within the company.

    Cons

good ol'boy network. The higher management (District Managers, VP) all take care of themselves if you are in the network you will make money and get promoted. If you are not in their network they will try everything they can to stop your growth. I've seen many managers get fired or demoted because they would do unethical things with inventory or holding invoices to skew the numbers. It really is a toxic environment at the unit level. At the training level they preach the culture and send you off motivated, but them you get to the unit and everything is different. I was an are manager when I started so I have seen different units all across the southeast US, and it's either corruption or employee burnout.

    I worked at Sodexo full-time

    Pros

$10 meal credit per day; good benefits; salary decent ; they offer tuition reimbursement ; room for growth

    Cons

Most managers are in their positions because of their longevity with Sodexo but they are not knowledgeable. Longevity doesn’t mean you know how to do your job...so when most people don’t know how to do their job they resort to political games, micromanaging, just a bunch of ignorant and stupidity... Sodexo has a great reputation but from my experience in Los Angeles it doesn’t represent what the company stands for. If you went to school, have student loans to pay back, worked hard to learn your craft, know that if you go the Sodexo route you will have to work alongside people who may feel inferior due to your expertise. You also have to wait 2 years to move to a different account so if you apply to one make sure you question the culture and environment during interview. Ask questions!
