I worked at Sport Clips full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I got the schedule I wanted because they were so desperate for stylists.

    Cons

    -Pay scale
-Pay is dependent on sales, you are required to mention product 3 times throughout the haircut, which is completely outrageous. Most clients (and stylists) feel like this is pushy and annoying.
    -Uniforms
-I got reprimanded for wearing a blue tank top under my uniform.... to a class.
     - Turnover
     - asked to stay late, come in early, come in on my days off because turnover was so bad.
    -Free haircut coupons
     - You make no money most times on these.

    Advice to Management

Think about the personality types of people that become stylists. We choose not to go to college because it feels too cold and corporate. We don’t fit into a box , and we like to express ourselves. This is the reason turnover is so bad.

I worked at Sport Clips full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great company values. Family owned franchises. Training always available.

    Cons

No areas for growth. Culture varies dramatically from franchisee to franchisee. Inconsistent message between corporate messaging and franchisee messaging. No Ethics line to submit concerns about franchise owner. No opportunity for FMLA, 401K, retirement plans unless the franchise owner offers it.

    Pros

Great chain & procedures, awesome environment.

    Cons

Terrible schedules, poor management, micro-managing owner that behaves inappropriately, is rude and hires based on appearance. Not enough wage or benefits- Better than many comparable salons, but not enough for decent income. Terrible bonus system.
