    I have been working at Sportsbet.com.au full-time

    Pros

Unlimited Free instant coffee. You will need it when asked to work 20 hour shifts!

    Cons

Management is micro managing, incompetent, unethical, bullying and the pay rate is way below par. Management expects you to work during the day and all night without sufficient breaks in between. Taking breaks is frowned upon!

I worked at Sportsbet.com.au full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Plenty of perks Opportunities for substantial bonuses Extra leave Friday beers and many events Conscientious and proactive HR team The working culture is akin to their advertising, which some would love - especially young sports fans with and interest/profession in technology.

      Cons

I witnessed some in-fighting and poor use of language and behaviours by my superiors, which ultimately set a bad example. At times when morale did drop, little was done to concede it's presence, nor to remedy it.

      Advice to Management

Listen and pay attention to staff morale and enthusiasm levels. Be conscious of setting good examples of behaviour and language for those who are supposed to look up to you.

I worked at Sportsbet.com.au full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Exposure to new technologies. Occasional fun activities.

      Cons

Management and delivery managers have created a culture in which only fast delivery of new features -- at the expense of producing low quality products and increasing tech debt -- is important.

      Advice to Management

Learn SDLC. Do not cut corners when it comes to SDLC. Stop building unpolished features and products. Create dedicated product/service/feature teams that iterate on a product. Hire application support developers. Be realistic. Software development requires a totally different mindset than growing tomatoes in a small garden.

      I worked at Sportsbet.com.au full-time

      Pros

Great people, they've hired some exceptionally intelligent, talented and hardworking people who love what they do. The energy from this is incredible. It's fast paced, high energy and hard work.

      Cons

In some areas there are too many layers of management which has come as a result of growing to over 700 people. As a result, there is a feeling of politics and favoritism in some areas of the business as they've lost the flat structure/openness they once had. Not a unique problem to Sportsbet though.

      Pros

Ambitious company with plenty of opportunity for self starters to be encouraged to be innovative and to change the game. Also has some great benefits and the opportunity to work with some really smart people

      Cons

If you’re looking for a cushy job where you can hide and just get your pay check every couple of weeks then this probably isn’t the place for you

I have been working at Sportsbet.com.au full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Cool, smart people, work hard and be rewarded. Don't be afraid to ask for development, be brave, there's plenty of support. Breakfast and a few drinks on offer is quite a perk!

      Cons

Too many smart people, so much to learn from people. They know the industry so well, wish I could absorb it all quickly and catch up.

      Advice to Management

Slow down a little, too much to be done. Suppose that's every employee in a competitive industry.
