      Pros

Decent pay Decent benefits Decent amount of vacation days Work life balance ok People are nice

      Cons

Forget about raises- there’s always a reason to not give you a raise Little to no room for advancement if outside of Boston Bureaucracy becomes unbearable at times Extremely siloed making it difficult to move things forward if you are simply hoping to get things done As a result of the above if your focus is on achieving results, there is very little job satisfaction to be had

      Pros

Good work life balance/salary ok, people generally nice but not capital markets calibre at other banks

      Cons

Part of custody bank therefore senior management in that division call the shots on how the business is managed even though they may not have a capital markets business mentality or experience.

      Poor management

      Pros

Work/life balance, flex time. Easy to take time off.

      Cons

Poorly managed. They have no clue about anything. Boston staff have been there forever. No one ever worked anywhere else so they have nothing no best practices to use for comparison. Lots of duplicative work.

      Unprofessional and unhelpful

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Work life balance/flexibility is one of the best i've seen.

      Cons

The upper management is highly unprofessional, going as far as to tell people not to call them because they get updates elsewhere. Commitment to risk excellence is a joke - systems do not work, requirements are not market standard, Excel is considered a system! The risk teams dedicated to a product are considered irrelevant because work can be outsourced to ERM. There is no accountability across the bank and the custody and fund services teams hardly know how to perform their functions. It is surprising the bank is still running because client satisfaction is the lowest priority possible.
