      Benefits are pretty good and training opportunities plentiful.

      Salary was not commensurate with experience. Increases were slow to come.

      State benefits and good, predictable hours

      Cons

      Once you're hired on, 99% of the time, the only raise you will get in that position will be a cost of living increase. If you really want a raise, you will have to apply for a position with a higher pay grade. Unfortunately, hard work is not rewarded. Also, it's a government agency and its departments are somewhat siloed and don't work cohesively together.

      Benefits are great. Salary is based on which department you're in. Some departments, you'll never get increases.

      Cons

      No bonuses, low salary. Rarely will get an increase.
