I have been working at Sun Life full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good benefits, bonus if you qualify. I like my coworkers for the most part.

    Cons

Department has been short staffed for the whole 6 years I've been here; so much mandatory overtime. Little to no room for movement. Lots of promises made but not kept. Different rules for different people; definitely play favourites. Raises this year weren't even cost of living even though business increased and company made billions. They say they are flexible with good work life balance but they hassled 3 pregnant women on my team about their "excessive" appointments and one ended up on stress leave. Certain employees get away with whatever they want and everyone else picks up the slack.

I worked at Sun Life full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great company-paid flexible benefits Office is closed on weekends and statutory holidays Breaks every 1.5-3 hours (not really a pro, taking calls back to back for 3 hours is tedious as hell)

    Cons

Micromanagement Unrealistic goals: even when they are met, management will look for anything they can to focus on your negative points. Time frames to complete a call have been shortened, but more tasks are being added to the workload. Explain that! Management team is its own clique and very obviously shows favouritism towards certain employees. No room for advancement, but they'll try and convince you otherwise. Back to back calls all day with no time to breath in between. Rotational shifts anywhere between 8am-8pm Monday to Friday. Shifts will be differ not for each day of the week.
