    Pros

Great place to work. A lot to learn. Nice people. Good salary. A lot of training.

    Cons

No cons. Only thing is too cold in winter(-40 to 50). Not much to do in the remote and small town. Work is good, life is boring.

I have been working at Suncor full-time

    Pros

Tons of resources to learn from; in addition to vacation, there are 12 personal days off.

    Cons

This is for the Fort McMurray region only, can't speak for other branches/divisions:
    - terrible management in the oil sands, very arrogant and incompetent for the most part with a heavy dosage of favouritism

    Advice to Management

There is too many management layers; get rid of at least 50% then restructure the rest into a productive role. Management gets paid way too much and there are extremely few managers that actually provide guidance, leadership support and competent decision making. Most are net negative to the company however the VP is rarely around to experience these issues. The company needs to be more inclusive of their senior individual contributors rather than taking management's words as advice.

    I worked at Suncor full-time

    Pros

Management cares about their employees, gym on location, lots of opportunities to move around, compensation is average for oil companies

    Cons

Technology is a bit outdated, hard to get promoted as there are so many people and fewer management positions, lots of lateral moves
