I worked at TASC full-time for less than a year

    Pros

good interview and salary...but thats about IT.

    Cons

I worked on their new product called Universal Benefit Account. It sucked. The person who was going to be my manager quit just before I started and as soon as I started my new manager's manager decided that the terms in which I had been employed were going to change. I was hired as a 100% remote employee but they decided that wasn't ok anymore AFTER we had made a completely different deal (wonderful no?). Thats when I decided I needed to quit. Software development everywhere is plagued by business leaders dictating terrible rules with the excuse of it being agile or scrum. I get that, it happens everywhere. This is a special case though. Commitments mean nothing if there is a fire going on(there always is) this also happens everywhere but the disregard for peoples time is just not something I wanted to be involved with. People have been conditioned to have a sense of "pride" over spending all nigthers on upgrade waves and there is definitely not the best atmosphere among teams in that building. Oh also the building is awful no space to have a lunch or really take a break (old oscar meyer building) . The PO was demeaning to some of the QA I get that software development is still being figured out...but this was the worst job experience I ever had. I never meet anybody in madison who has good things to say about this company.

"TASC supervisor: "Our Service Reps have a shelf life""

I worked at TASC full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Clean, safe work environment if you work in one of the physical locations. The opportunity to work from your home office if that's your thing. Due to involvement in community events and charity, TASC touts itself as a caring corporate citizen.

    Cons

In 2016, the company aggressively began outsourcing jobs in several departments to India and the Philippines. Even though the US workers were given only two weeks "severance pay" and let go, the company proudly claimed that this was beneficial for everyone. Wages are not competitive when compared to similar jobs within the region. The employer offered benefits were too expensive, and Medcaid was my only option. Many of the supervisors seemed friendly on the superficial level, but were quick to make cold remarks and veiled threats regarding performance quotas and "rocking the boat". Employees that work from home are 100% responsible for the expense of their home office, and are required to have a dedicated office room, a relatively new computer, telephone, landline, and internet security. A second computer monitor is recommended. The cost of maintaining and periodically updating equipment becomes a burden after years of earning $14 per hour. My TASC supervisor once told me that their Customer Service Reps "have a self life," implying that they typically don't last long. Every second of a person's day is documented, analyzed, and scrutinized in an effort to maximize performance and maintain unrealistic goals. These aren't the grumblings of someone who didn't make the cut. I was once given the company-wide award for highest metrics scores for a three month period, out of a field of over 100 reps. The company has a high standard in its vales and beliefs for the community, but shows that it doesn't value its employees nearly as much.

I worked at TASC full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Remote possibility is possible in some areas

    Cons

This place is the definition of insanity. Say the are innovative when actually they are a dinosaur company stuck in 1994. Switched to new platform in 2019 without beta testing and there has been 1 hour hold times since March 2019. TASC currently purchased BASIC Benefits headquartered in MI. My prediction is they show BASIC purchasing TASC and continue to deliver garbage service and destroy BASIC's book of business. I seen this company lose multiple large clients costing them millions in revenue. Its a nightmare in ALL areas not just sales. EMPLOYEE BEWARE!!!

I have been working at TASC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If in sales you have some freedom while you sell and the benefits are OK.

    Cons

Downsides is the company is extremely struggling with service. If you produce in sales you will to put the business in and follow it to the end or it will not go in right. The company switched to a new platform and it has been a struggle for six months. I would wait at least a year for them to work through all the glitches in the system. A lot of employees are resigning at this time.

I have been working at TASC full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Exciting Opportunities with large projects consistently moving - Challenging issues to solve - not just same old operations day in and day out - Great People- all over the company - Great Work/Life Balance- depending on position, you are able to work from home and attend family events when needed - Flat organization- Execs (CEO, President) are accessible to all - Lunches provided for anyone in meetings over lunch hour- not just management - Leadership has grass roots knowledge of how the business works - TASC is coming out of a 4 year platform build that is going to change the way benefits are supported and executed - Once TASC finalizes its transformation through 2020- this company will grow exponentially - TASC is always growing- organically or through acquisition

    Cons

    - Pay grades need to be revisited due to technology and business growth in the Madison area - Need to be more selective with hiring, we bring on too many people that are not a fit (see multiple comments below) due to pay - Need to focus more on training and change managing employees through the large scale changes that have occurred and are occurring in the future
