Great corporate culture and very forward thinking
Cons
low pay rate and not enough employees

Pros
Company is forward-thinking and wants to remain relevant and take risks.
Cons
Many essential employees are very underpaid for the work that they do. Management is very guilty of favoritism, so don’t expect to be promoted or receive added bonuses by proving your worth through your quality of work. HR is a disaster and cannot be trusted to do the right thing (i.e. investigate sexual harassment allegations). Employees are expected to put up and shut up and fully and blindly trust sales leaders.

Favoritism and ethics are a big problem
22 Jan 2020 - Sales in San Antonio, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Many attempts at team building. They try to come across as forward thinking. Sales goals are easily met. The station has a solid reputation with viewers. The sales team receives a lot of leads that make their sales goals easy to meet.
Cons
Inappropriate hires. They hire and promote realatives. Not taking advantage of an employee's skill set. Lack of professional development opportunities. Poor quality of internet products and no maintenance once the sale is achieved. Favoritism. Overstaffed in sales and understaffed in news. No accountability for true sales. They rely too much on advertising agencies for new business, very few local commercials are produced for new business. No leadership, no consistency. They lead in the dark and make it up as they go.

A hidden gem in the media world
22 Oct 2015 - Vice President in Potomac, MDRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
TEGNA's focus on purpose, great people and forward thinking approach make them a premiere local content company. They are a large company and value promoting from within so growth is tangible. They invest in the development of their people.
Cons
They operate in very lean fashion which results in not always getting what you need to do the job and in some cases reducing the quality and quantity of employee benefits/perks.

Cons
- Health benefits are medicore-okay

Pros
TEGNA is a very innovative and forward-thinking company compared to many of our competitors in the broadcast industry. I enjoy working with our consultative sales people who earn the trust of local businesses by tailoring our TV, digital and OTT marketing solutions to business needs and ultimately helping businesses thrive!
Cons
Relatively new brand (TEGNA, formerly Gannett) that still needs to be strengthened in the industry.

Pros
Forward thinking company. Seem to want their employees to be happy and successful.
Cons
Culture varies dramatically depending on what station you work for. Goals are too high and digital partnership currently in place is useless.
