A great company to work for. It provides the necessary growth opportunities and is very employee friendly.
24 May 2021 - Director, Engineering in PuneRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Engineering is great in terms of opportunities for both learning and growth as they work on cutting-edge technologies from the India office. Engineering has all the roles in India like product management, development, qa. Professional services is also has the largest team in India.
Cons
The senior management is all outside of India and is not as aggressive in retaining the best talent. Not among the best paymasters.

It was an innovative company till 2012 but lost race in cloud era
2 Oct 2020 - Manager in MumbaiRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It was innovative company from early years to 2012. Employee friendly policies Technical career path even at senior level
Cons
I guess company lost race post 2013 I'm cloud era. Too much internal politics and conflicts at senior level Finally they sold secretly and in a haste by laying off thousands of employees. Employees felt distrust in Senior management.

Pros
There are a few things very interesting about working for TIBCO. It is a big company ( > $1b in revenue, 4000+ employees) that feels small (everyone knows everyone, very startup-like culture). It is not a company where you look for linear growth, you either remain stagnant or rise high and rise fast. There is a lot of focus on customer satisfaction, and in general the quality of work is very good. It is a place of innovators. Even if your job is "boring", the amount of smart people you come across in your daily lives whether they are in India or Palo Alto is amazing. The learning is amazing. Whether it's technology, or management, or political dynamics of a customer, there's lots and lots to learn. What you learn in TIBCO in a year is what you'll learn in other companies in two or three years. The best thing about working for TIBCO is that there is a lot of freedom for you to do what you think is right for your customer(s) and for the company. This includes flying in to visit them and solve an escalation, taking an initiative outside the scope of the customer for personal improvement or taking your team out for a good dinner because they work hard for you.
Cons
TIBCO is not a paymaster, and money talks in the outside market. Those who work for TIBCO are done chasing big money unless they are very senior management. Those who work for TIBCO are basically motivated by other things: quality of work, self-esteem, ability to innovate - but not money, because money alone as a parameter will fetch better paying jobs. TIBCO also has a very Palo Alto feel to it. It brings a good startup culture, but every region is different and sometimes very senior management do not respect cultural and geographical differences, making it less easier to execute in upcoming markets. Lastly, TIBCO is a company where two things matter a lot: who you know and who know you. The internal social network is a platform to exhibit your abilities no matter who you are, whether you are an EVP or a developer. But if you keep quiet and do your job day in and day out, you'll get the salary and earn the respect but your growth will be limited. TIBCO wants everyone to be rockstars so if you expect a company to invest heavily in your growth without showing a very high level of self motivation it is not the best company to work for. Having said that, you will be compelled to become a rockstar just by the company you keep.

Pros
Great technical workforce Willing to share technical knowledge between each other Relatively good compensation for senior consultants & architects
Cons
$, $$, $$$ - This is all Senior management care about. Forget about time with your family, what you like to do, or profit sharing. Senior management likes to VERBALLY praise you. And that's pretty much all you will get for sacrificing your personal life for them. Good workers tend to get overwork yet uncompensated, while less than stellar performers gets a free ride. Managers who knows how to smooth talk but without a good technical background leads to unrealistic, unsustainable expectation that sets employees (& the company) up for failure

Weak management team limits potential
11 Jun 2009 - in Palo Alto, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great place to hang out and do the minimum necessary in just about any group. Almost impossible to get fired, except marketing occasionally chases people out. If you're in Engineering, you can find some good stuff to do that will give you a good product on your resume.
Cons
Lack of senior management direction, beginning with a CEO who lacks any experience outside the organization. Product Management and Marketing leadership is weak and has little influence on the Engineering organization. Overall senior management is comparatively weak vs. peers in the industry. Marketing budget is limited and spent unwisely. Product Management lacks leadership. HR is treated as a legal compliance group, with zero investment in developing internal resources. Compensation is a favoritism system and nobody knows how it works. Company focused on avoiding mistakes, instead of focused on successes.
