Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Teach For India full-time for more than a year
Pros
Spending time with the kids, feeling like you're making a difference. Most people are absolutely amazing and helpful. You can build overall personality, people skills and confidence here owing to the nature of work. Work life balance is ok as long as you prioritise well and manage your time.
Cons
TFI has been doing some great marketing which is a draw for young students and professionals. However, there is zero professional development at TFI in terms of technical skills. Post fellowship opportunities are difficult to find, if not impossible, if you;re trying to shift into a non-social work field. Salary is extremely low and financial independence is hard to come by. There is no support provided by TFI for housing, transport or anything else, even in the initial 2-3 weeks.
