I worked at The Body Shop part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Great discount scheme - Mostly nice members of staff - Fun serving customers and giving demos and advice - Good opportunity to learn more about skincare & types

    Cons

    - Pay was low for a management position - Constantly accused by senior management. One time after spending more than 5 minutes in the bathroom I was directly accused on my next shift of being on my mobile at work? - Constantly asked to go against the rules eg open early close late or send colleagues out into the main shopping centre with samples - Despite performing well in all aspects of role was threatened with a performance improvement plan because I hadn’t met my target for filling out customer cards (absurd as this was the only issue they had) - inexperienced and inflexible senior management who were extremely young and immature, constantly running to the office to cry or have arguments with their boyfriends on the phone - Did not accept that this was just a part time student role for most of the team unlike most companies I have worked for who would be far more relaxed and understanding

I worked at The Body Shop part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Awesome customers Decent discounts

    Cons

I worked here part-time for roughly 2 years and they all but demanded I make them a full-time priority. Even after expressing that I needed a second job to pay bills, management essentially pressured me into quitting instead of allowing me 2 weekdays and a Friday off so that I had something reasonable to offer a potential second employer. Outside of that, management set unreasonable expectation on the store based on assumptions and not the facts that the employees tried to provide.

I worked at The Body Shop part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - easy to pick up key skills that are important in the workplace in general - free products and 50% discount

    Cons

    - Extremely repetitive - part time role yet feels full time as they want you to be flexible and available all the time but you don’t get full time hours - All other roles get cash bonuses, but customer Consultants just get product even though they’re the ones on the shop floor selling product and hitting targets - not much room for progression

I worked at The Body Shop part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The Body Shop is without a doubt the best place I have ever worked. It was fun, engaging, challenging and you where almost always kept busy.Pay is also incredibly generous,as you are paid pretty much the same no matter your age bracket. My colleagues where wonderful people, they became more like family to me during my time with the company -I genuinely miss them after moving on.My manageress was also an incredibly friendly, funny and understanding young woman, who I believe has a very promising future; she was the best manager I have ever had the pleasure of working for. The Body Shop in itself is a very ethical company, who fight for many different causes, which is something I respect. All in all,if you love beauty and cosmetics and are looking for a well paying part time job, look no further than this fantastic company.TBS really sets the bar high for employers everywhere and if I could return,I would do so in a heartbeat! The only reason I didnt stay, was because the branch I worked for closed down.

    Cons

The only downside of working here,is that you dont get very many hours (unless its peak times, like Christmas).I had to work a second job at the weekend to afford my bills at home.Hours dont increase unless you are promoted to Team Leader. If that isnt an issue for you though,be sure to apply. You wont regret it!

I have been working at The Body Shop part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great first job for college/high school students. You learn a lot about how a business works and there is some room to move up when working part-time (customer consultant to key holder). Also good 50% off employee discount.

    Cons

Low pay for what is expected for you to do at times. Was expected to train a bunch of new employees, was paid the same amount as them despite being a key holder. Pay is "non-negotiable". High turnover at some locations with some interesting co-workers that do not stay too long. Depending on your location, sales targets may be very difficult to reach.

I worked at The Body Shop part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Nice people to work with - 5 items of make up free when you join the company and per year - Training encouraged

    Cons

    - I was on a part time 8 hour a week contract from when I was 16 years old and at school and far too much was expected. All focused on making sales and I felt guilty if we hadn't hit targets.
