Pros
The employees and therapists rally together due to the substandard working conditions.
Cons
The owner will attempt to slander the reputation of any employee or therapist who decides to resign or leave for any reason. She is spiteful and vindictive and does not recognize her own flaws as she passes the blame onto everyone else. There is an extremely high turnover rate for a reason, in which the owner is a common denominator. Any new therapist that is considering a job offer, please be aware. It seems as if the owner hires new therapists to take advantage of their inexperience. She is unsupportive, uncaring, and at times threatening to her employees. She will make promises during the interview that she has no intention of keeping. She is also likely in violation of multiple labor laws such as: not providing scheduled lunch breaks, breaks in general, refusing to pay holiday pay or sick leave, and not fulfilling her end of the contract. Ethics is not a strength of this company. Additional cons: the facility is dirty and the equipment is outdated. The owner’s focus is solely on making money and not investing in the clients or therapists. The pay is underwhelming, especially considering how you’re treated and the expectations. No opportunities for growth and no incentives to continue working for her after a year or less.

Pros
Friendly employees that stick together, gaining experience with kids mostly 0-3 years.
Cons
Horrible owner. She makes false promises (I was promised to be salary at a certain point and was continued to be paid hourly), she did not pay out vacation, had to fight for sick pay. (I know that I wasn't the only employee with this problem). Office manager was great but could only do so much with the owner hovering. She does not have a family and does not realize that people have a life outside of work. The equipment is outdated, old and she has not bought anything for the clinic in years. She does not care about the appearance of the clinic. Any constructive criticism you provide falls on deaf ears despite her sounding interested. She may be a great clinician but she is just that, not a good business mind. Every year she has a new set of employees, the average employee stays a year, if that. All that and she underpays. If you are a new grad be cautious not to fall into the trap as I did.

Pros
Owner's strength is her strong background in 0-3 year olds, and NDT. Excellent instructor and opportunity to learn this weekly at her workshops and earn CEUs. Great opportunity for new OTRs fresh out of school, not so great for COTAs
Cons
Owner's weakness is lack of understand of school OT in general since she doesn't work it. Very much out of touch with the challenges the school districts present. Works her OTRs to the bone with an exempt salary structure, which enables her to work them an average of 60 hrs a week. Woe to the therapist who sees this and doesn't want to do it. She doesn't have a family and work is the only thing that is important to you, so if you are looking for balance, you won't find it here.

Pros
Office staff and therapists are great to work with. Everyone is much happier and more productive when owner is not in the office.
Cons
Extremely poor management by owner. Therapists are over-worked and owner does not listen to any feedback from her employees. She does not prioritize the families and their needs, but only billable hours for profit. Salaries are significantly below average. Many promises were made upon interview, but none were provided including PTO, sick time and continuing education. Health benefits were available after almost 4 months of employment. GGUSD employees have many complaints about the management making building relationships between teachers, program directors and therapists extremely difficult. Extremely high caseloads- 70-80 students per therapist. No supervision provided, just expected to get into the field. Every single school year there management hires new therapists because of extremely high turnover rate. Owner does not see this a problem and does not care about retention of her therapists. Primarily hires new grads because they are unexperienced have ask for less. Employees are salaried so given caseloads that require 60-70 hour work weeks. Office staff also has high turnover rates.

Pros
- therapists are passionate about what they do
Cons
- focus on productivity over quality of patient care and therapist well-being - lack of follow through by leadership to address voiced concerns - very little training provided to new employees; onboarding process disorganized - high rate of turnover across the company - very little to no time alotted for paperwork, planning, or breaks - expectation to see many patients back to back with no buffer in between - 30 minute speech sessions that are supposed to include patient check in, therapy, documentation and room cleaning leave little time for actual therapy and result in very limited progress on the part of patients - company takes on new patients even when there is not enough availability on the schedule for the patients to make therapy appointments
