    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at The Columbia Bank (MD) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Relaxed environment depending on management at your specific branch (of course) but as far as the volume of traffic and duties required the job is fairly simple. Learn the basics of customer service in a retail banking environment with sales goals. Great responsibilities to upload onto your resume and to learn basic/advanced customer service skills. Good Benefits and PTO hours Great for (current) college students looking to build their career in banking and have the customer service skills Company geared towards internal hiring

    Cons

Low Pay for Tellers (Especially if you have a degree) Repetitive Sales Goals Growth Oppourtunities

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at The Columbia Bank (MD) full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I like how the company gives changes out to people who only had little to no experience in the banking industry.

    Cons

Some locations are worse then others, all the locations do things differently and you will be lucky if you get a good location because I didn't. There were a lot of choosing sides and favoritism going on and there is no employee recognition such as holiday parties or going out after hours at my location.

I worked at The Columbia Bank (MD)

    Pros

Positive work environment with both coworkers and customers. It is a small bank so it was very easy to get to know all of the customers and give personalized service.

    Cons

Some locations were very slow, but somewhat overstaffed so there wasn't much to do. Could be considered a positive for some people, but it made the day go very slow and when it was slow nobody was ever cut early.

Good health, dental and vision insurance in 2015. 4% 401k match fully vested after 1 year in 2015

    Cons

Pay is low. Almost any other financial institution will pay more. Branches are almost never closed due to weather. State of emergency with all other banks closed except The Columbia Bank.
