      Pros

christmas bonus of 2 % of your annual salary

      Cons

They say they are a family company, what they don't tell you is that to benefit from being a family company, your last name must be Smucker.

      Pros

Great culture and lovely people. Great brands to work with. Good leadership that cares. Collaborative and transparent culture. Mark Smucker is trying to create real change and reinvent the organization.

      Cons

The organization needs to become more innovative. They have put steps in place, but with a culture that is so centralized and stuck in old ways, transformation is slow and not happening fast enough.

Horrible, Fake culture, Company is on a bad Downward spiral

      Pros

It was ok years ago, Since Mark Smucker took over it has gotten bad and keeps getting worse

      Cons

Fake Family Culture, Management is a total joke. The middle management lies to cover for upper management who in turn "covers up" what is realy going on to senior management. Senior management is clueless to what is really going on because they are too busy cutting corners and trying to maximize profits at the expense of quality and safety.

      Great Company to Work For

      Pros

The J.M. Smucker Co. has been a great company to work for, and has been great while working through the pandemic.

      Cons

Corporate sometimes gets lost in theor own little bubble, not realizing the legitimate challenges facing the production facilities. Word spreads of parties and food trucks, gatherings for families, and other events, yet at the plants, "those events aren't in the budget".

What do you really want here?

      Pros

Depending on your position it may be very stable. Typically Smucker Manufacturing plants are not subject to the constant binging and purging of new hires. There are a lot of great people that work all across this company and if you put in the work and effort you can drive your career into the field you want. Smuckers has performed a purge of excess headcount recently so it shouldn't happen again, but Smuckers was very generous with those it was letting go giving them ample time to find new work while still on the payroll.

      Cons

Smuckers doesn't really know what it wants to be anymore. Lots of good operations knowledge was handed over from Proctor and Gamble however a lot of that has been expiring. Smuckers continues to look to P&G but is now adopting ideas that have already proven to be unprofitable and morale busters. This could be an effort to effect change management. If so, it's unsettling to get small glimpses

      Pros

Medical Benefits Gym & Daycare Summer Fridays Dedicated & loyal lower ranks A handful of capable high level Directors remain but that number is quickly falling.

      Cons

Subpar Industry Compensation Lack of Decisive Leadership No true disruptive / distinctive Innovation Base brands are stale not from lack of passion from those that work on them but from lack of belief/funding to continue brand building. Too many outside consultants & agencies getting rich off Smucker instead of relying on your own people’s ideas.

      Pros

New projects and challenges. Work from home is great, more productive, less political.

      Cons

Smucker pays a lot of consultants for solutions leaders lack the discipline to fully implement or even maintain. Risk averse. Short term thinking. Slow to respond, yet reactive. No people strategy. Culture leads to group think. Things are communicated to suggest change but leaders lack the discipline to actually lead change. Moxy is in short supply.
