I have been working at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Beautiful stores Decent training Benefits are decent

    Cons

Insultingly low commissions High pressure environment Extremely rigid and corporate Highly metrics driven Declining brand value/exclusivity No clothing allowance Terrible work life balance Little to no internal promotion

    Advice to Management

I don’t think they care but stop reducing your salespeople to a list of metrics. This brand used to be the stuff of dreams and now is just another retail sweatshop

I worked at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great pay, vacation benefits and product. Tiffany jewelry is out of this world, so it’s amazing to work for such a storied design house!

    Cons

Opportunities to grow in your career are limited. Work/life balance is not prioritized. Management is very cliquey and childish, which makes it challenging for them to manage employees. Lots of drama and inappropriate behavior runs amok because managers are too busy gossiping and trying to be in with the “cool” crowd. Professional development is not a priority. Micromanaging is the norm and employee feedback is not valued in any way.

I have been working at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The only good thing is the employee discount

    Cons

    - company does not appreciate employees, no work life balance - People left the company (either fired or found a better opportunity) and the company does not fill those vacancies. The ones left have to pick up all the work with no salary increase or compensation. - No bonus - No career advancement opportunity at all. Because you are given too much work to do. Of course, you are unable to excel since it's way more than the workload you can handle. At year end review, the company use this against you and give you a bad rating. Thus, you do not get any salary increase nor bonus. - Overall, it's a terrible place to work at. Please expect nothing when you work there. - Culture is really bad as well.

    Pros

Great employee discount and work life balance. colleagues are competitive but nice. Good way to build relationships with clients.

    Cons

Very number oriented, everything is really focused on the number as a metric. Management are not helpful and pushes tasks from one to another.

    Advice to Management

Better management team will really better the experience for sales professional but being fair and neutral is vital to cultivate a positive collaborative working environment.

I have been working at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

No tech skills needed or used. This company is so far behind with technology

    Cons

Low pay, long hours, the expectation to be on call 24-7, no work/life balance, no professional development, management completely out of touch with what actually happens on a daily basis

    Advice to Management

Work in your locations as a sales professional and operations professional for at least one month to be able to understand the reality of what customers do/purchase. Also, reflect on how hard you worked for those people. How many family dinners/days off/Saturday nights were interrupted by txts and phone calls from clients? And, was it worth the low compensation?

I worked at Tiffany & Co. for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good benefits and work/life balance. There are a few good people there to connect and work with. Chance to learn how to work in a fast paced company.

    Cons

Toxic immature environment, backstabbing and throwing people under the bus. Management definitely plays favorites. There are employees that are favored and get away with not doing their job and there are hardworking employees that are not favored that get put down and treated terribly. The work demands are unorganized. It’s an established company that is trying to stay relevant but ends up making the work life an awful experience with all the confusion. A lot of employees end up disappointed in less than a year after hire. Not much growth, promotions are rare.

    Advice to Management

Be more professional in the work environment. Teams are too divided and siloed. People that verbally abuse their subordinates should not get away with it. There is a reason why turnovers come in big waves. Too many employees feel undervalued.

    Pros

Decent salary and that’s pretty much it

    Cons

So many complaints about this company. They want you to do your work (and the work of 3 other people) but do not provide proper training material or update information. In reference to work/life balance I was told during my interview that they prided themselves on flexibility and balancing life and work. Well that was lies. My time in scrutinized and micromanaged and as a salaried employee. Time off is nothing special. You get three weeks and the bare minimum of holidays. And god forbid you try to use sick time. The company offers 10 sick days which you use or lose but they encourage you NOT to use it and tell your your performance score can be affected by using sick time. All in all it was a bad decision coming to this company. I should have stuck it out in my prior role Until a better opportunity came about.
