I worked at Transamerican Auto Parts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Excellent employee purchase program, but then again, you're also paying to customize your own vehicle, in hopes that it will promote their products and services.
    - Does allow for better than average work / life balance.
    - Excellent 401K program.

    Cons

    - Changing targets for hitting commission payments.
    - Inability to be price competitive in certain markets.
    - Parent company owns several brands. Account Execs often find themselves competing with vendors who purchase from Transamerican Wholesale at rates cheaper than if buying internally.
    - Very poor management at regional and national levels.
    - Very negative environment which trickles down from top of the organization.
    - Either prosper in a market that thrives, or starve in a smaller market that may not be open to the products and services offered by DSI.
    - If you interview with this company, they will show you phenomenal earnings numbers based on reps who are in very strong markets. Actual numbers will not be consistent numbers they will show you.
    - Often change course of what is the "new focus". They will pump up a promo or program and beat everyone up on it daily, then abandon it as if it never existed.
    - Very accusatory environment. Almost a feeling of "You're never doing enough".

    Pros

    401K, Medical & Sick Pay

    Cons

Pathetic communications and even worse managers. Ton's of wasted money spent on non-professional payroll.

    Advice to Management

Fire all the "Good ol' boys club" and start over with REAL professionals.

I have been working at Transamerican Auto Parts full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very relaxed work environment. I have the freedom to do my job without getting hounded by a boss.

    Advice to Management

    Stop letting people go

I worked at Transamerican Auto Parts full-time

    Pros

career advancement opportunities. for enthusiast, its a great opportunity to work in the industry.

    Cons

difficulty maintaining management due to too much micromanaging and too little incentive. Upper management is extremely unorganized and unprofessional. Management doesn't respect employee home life/family obligations and expect overtime or meetings after hours with little to no notice.

I have been working at Transamerican Auto Parts full-time

    Pros

Employee purchase program is good. Good place to learn offroad environment.

    Cons

Company has gotten worse and worse as time goes on. Lot of speculation of parts that never make it to production. I don't like when a problem is identified on a lift kit and nothing gets done to fix it years later. Health care is meh. You'd think a big company with thousands of employees would have better priced healthcare.
