    Cons

Change - Some are running towards it, some are running away from it Culture - Outdated process (Improvement as happening Compton location - Not the most ideal location for corporate headquarters and building needs some updating , however there have been some upgrades completed to building

    Advice to Management

Have benefits start first day of employment versus after 60 days Add/recognize more paid holidays or add a "floating holiday"

"Constantly changing usually not for the better"

    StarStarStarStarStar

I worked at Transamerican Auto Parts

    Pros

Great customers, wide variety of products

    Cons

Nobody can accurately tell you how the commission plan works. Pay plans are always changing. Absolutely no morals. Very unprofessional work environment

    Advice to Management

Don’t over think it. Get some more qualified 4 wheel drive enthusiasts and less corporate numbers crunchers from Polaris. They have no clue

    Pros

    The RRSP plan is decent

    Cons

    • Drinking on the drop by store managers • Excessive drinking and drug abuse in the shop during, and after store hours (staff and customers could get severely injured or killed) • The managers will sabotage your work to create reasons for write-ups • They regularly forgo provincial and federal laws to screw over the employees • The manager's motto is "take their money first, then worry about getting the... parts" • Managers sell and steel warranty parts for their personal benefit • They will threaten your job to force you to work overtime

    Advice to Management

This location needs to be seriously investigated before someone is seriously injured or worse. Then, under new management, the store may have an opportunity to turn around.

    Pros

    - Excellent employee purchase program, but then again, you're also paying to customize your own vehicle, in hopes that it will promote their products and services. - Does allow for better than average work / life balance. - Excellent 401K program.

    Cons

    - Changing targets for hitting commission payments. - Inability to be price competitive in certain markets. - Parent company owns several brands. Account Execs often find themselves competing with vendors who purchase from Transamerican Wholesale at rates cheaper than if buying internally. - Very poor management at regional and national levels. - Very negative environment which trickles down from top of the... organization. - Either prosper in a market that thrives, or starve in a smaller market that may not be open to the products and services offered by DSI. - If you interview with this company, they will show you phenomenal earnings numbers based on reps who are in very strong markets. Actual numbers will not be consistent numbers they will show you. - Often change course of what is the "new focus". They will pump up a promo or program and beat everyone up on it daily, then abandon it as if it never existed. - Very accusatory environment. Almost a feeling of "You're never doing enough".

    Pros

career advancement opportunities. for enthusiast, its a great opportunity to work in the industry.

    Cons

difficulty maintaining management due to too much micromanaging and too little incentive. Upper management is extremely unorganized and unprofessional. Management doesn't respect employee home life/family obligations and expect overtime or meetings after hours with little to no notice.

I have been working at Transamerican Auto Parts full-time

    Pros

Employee purchase program is good. Good place to learn offroad environment.

    Cons

Company has gotten worse and worse as time goes on. Lot of speculation of parts that never make it to production. I don't like when a problem is identified on a lift kit and nothing gets done to fix it years later. Health care is meh. You'd think a big company with thousands of employees would have better priced healthcare.
