    Pros

On the spot detailed training for your role, a lot of free food, understanding colleagues and a positive work environment.

    Cons

To personal desk- choose where to sit each day, no lactose free coffee machine over 5 regular milk coffee machines.

I have been working at TransferWise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Autonomous work environment, people who more often than not share a common goal and to get to be part of building a product that most costumers absolutely love and that genuinely help people around the world save lots of money

    Cons

The very high level of autonomy can lead to teams at times acting selfishly. As long this is managed properly, there are ways to make it work but working this way is not for everyone

I have been working at TransferWise full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Strong compliance program, collaborative work environment, high opportunity for self- and career development, smart coworkers with great personalities

    Cons

Not really a con, but I'm required. Environment is fast-paced--mastering work requires subject matter expertise, good problem-solving skills, great communication skills, instinct for process development, and facility for relationship building. Challenging, but very engaging and fun.

I have been working at TransferWise full-time

    Pros

Like all the comments, many talented nice people in the company. Free food. Good working environment. The office team made sure you feel comfortable.

    Cons

The team and the team lead will judge you by their impression. When you join the team, your job is to make everyone happy about you otherwise they will feedback you to higher up. Then you have to explain why you didn't make everyone happy. There's peer pressure where you can't express your thought when your opinion is not aligned with the company culture. In such occasions, people team will come to you and ask what happened? we welcome your feedback! but they aren't helping but assessing. Most of the leaders are from oldies, and some of them are not even suitable to lead, they merely stay longer in Transferwise. The feedback culture is a good intention but I see some cases when people use it against each other, and the team leader is not capable of handling it.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear this is how you’re currently feeling. It’s our job in the People team to make sure everyone’s happy and to hear honest feedback and see if we can take actions so we can get better. If you feel comfortable to make yourself known, I can connect you with a member of the team to chat about the issues you raise face-to-face. We’d really like to hear more and see what we can do to improve things for you. Best wishes, Jihan

I have been working at TransferWise full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Fast paced work environment teaches skills that may otherwise take much longer - Young people of promise are given a chance to take on important projects and ownership of tasks traditionally filled by older employees, in other companies - Opportunity to be be autonomous in achieving company goals - Opportunity to travel - Platforms to express ideas and discuss improvement areas - Opportunity to be involved in a fast-growing company that is pioneering a niche in the market - Dogs in the office - Working with highly talented and motivated people - Internal mobility to grow and change direction

    Cons

    - Workload and pace can be a challenge for some. This is never going to be a walk in park, whatever position or team you work in - Building processes and systems as we go can mean those desiring a structured workload can struggle - Requires a lot of dedication on an individual level - A lot is expected from each employee. Will be difficult for those with lots of commitments outside of work

I have been working at TransferWise full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible work environment Loads of paid time off (5 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick) Paid sabbatical (after 4 years of service) Paid Parental Leave (after one year of service) 401k Match NSO Stock options Freedom, ability to make an impact, drive change- Friendly environment Opportunities to participate or lead projects to move the business forward - sometimes even world-wide opportunities Diverse culture - speak 5+ foreign languages Working with people from different cultures Competitive benefits package Pet-friendly office Ability for some remote work (after 90 days) Weekly team lunches Monthly team activities / fun events

    Cons

Work is very fast paced; and sometimes not for everyone Autonomous work can have it's pro's & con's; One has to be a self-motivated and driven individual to succeed. When considering internal promotions, many roles are based outside of the Americas. When considering salaries, base compensation is a factor, not overall compensation. Ensure we remain competitive in the markets.

    Pros

care about employees. always someone to ask for help. try to make best working environment for employees. always trying to make better.

    Cons

a lot of information to get a handle on, just something you yourself needs to work on. they have all outlets for you to find information but you have to get comfortable with it. pay could be a bit better. still pretty good though.

I have been working at TransferWise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great career opportunities if you are hard working and can find your own path. Amazing work environment - everybody in the team is customer focused and people are always up for collaboration in order to make the customers lives easier. Stock options - A great way for employees to be invested in the company. Autonomous teams - It's kind of a double edged sword. When the team lead is good at their job the autonomous team is a super efficient way to work, but unfortunately due to our amazing growth some teams are unorganized due to the autonomous teams and could use a better lead. You can bring your pet to work!

    Cons

The salary is still not the best when compared to the market, e.g in banking. Especially when taking into account the average salary rise within the last year and the consumer price index. Sometimes it does feel like older employees get better benefits for the same job. E.g better salaries, oldies protect each other and new positions are given to older employees even when someone else could be a better fit. More assistance could be offered to team members by the team leads in order to find the career path they are interested in. Not everybody can build their own path 100% and it's completely fine :) But these are just small things to improve on and overall the pros outweigh the cons massively.
