Execution challenges

Good benefits package, warm in-office environment. Strong pre-sales and post-sales team, focus on customer satisfaction.

In many areas execution on product development was challenging because of accumulated technical debt and lack of overarching architectural vision. Many ingrained habits. Strategy seemed sound but hard to back up with realities of the product.

Strong vision and commitment from the top
31 Jul 2022 - Management, G&ARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The top executives of the organization joined shortly after the spin-out from Arm. The team includes the company's two original founders and one exec who joined well before the sale to Arm. This means that they are experts in the subject matter / industry and also have relevant institutional knowledge, which has been useful during the separation from Arm. They have a track record of successful execution as a team, and that inspires confidence and credibility among the workforce. They clearly did not return to TD just for the sake of a paycheck (and they are not worried about keeping their jobs); they have an obvious personal stake in the company's success, and they seem highly motivated to grow the value of the business. Because of this focus, there's no place for politics or "cya" behavior among the management team, and (on good days at least) the focus on substance / performance permeates the culture throughout the organization. The broader workforce includes many high-performing and committed individuals, and there's an emphasis on accountability.
Cons
Because the company was until recently being operated as a subsidiary of Arm, there is still work to be done to get the workforce aligned on TD's own distinct culture, particularly outside the US. The company (in terms of its back-office operations) tends to be US-centric but is aware of this and actively trying to shift to a more global focus.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! I'm happy to see that your experience has been great so far and that our Executive's passion for success is apparent to you. I like that you pointed out the emphasis on accountability, as reliability is one of our 4 values- commitment to ourselves, each other and our customers!
