I worked at Two Roads Tech full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1) One of the earlier guys to get into HFT.
    2) Being situated in a hotel, you get wide variety of food although the spending is capped and not sufficient given the charges.
    3) It is a small setup.

    Cons

    1) Management is not responsible and ethical. Not an employee first company.
    2) Huge discrimination in compensation structure.
    3) The firm is not stable, recently closed entire HFT division on short notice of 1 day, with minimal severance pay of 1 month salary.
    4) Salary not at par with the industry standard and no bonuses which are huge component in HFTs.
    5) Lot of legacy code.
    6) Not well organised production setup, lot of time is wasted in monitoring the production hence very little development and improvement.
    7) The work environment is sort of depressing. Team members don't interact much.
    8) Situated in outskirts of Bangalore.

    Advice to Management

    1) Focus on building healthy culture. Treat employees like your family.
    2) Focus on hiring quality rather than hiring people and firing them within 3 months.
    3) Don't try to control everything, give employees space and freedom. Focus on making the workplace more lively.

    1. Office location is little away from the centre of the city.

I worked at Two Roads Tech full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked here for more than a year.
    1) My only good experience was the peer group with
whom I worked. I got to work with smart, ambitious
    and hard working techies
    2) The office is in a business Hotel with wide variety of
menu options but the price is too high and upper cap
    is 10k per month

    Cons

    1) The firm laid off the entire HFT division
comprising 30 people within a day in February (The
    firm had not gone bankrupt)
    2) The Company only gave 15 days of compensation
as a severance package which is way too less.
Moreover, they didn't even reimburse accumulated
    leaves over the past year
    3) The founder is egoistic, highly introverted and
    doesnt interact with anyone
    4) There is lot of income disparity and freshers who
had the least impact were payed double than their
seniors with five years of experience
    5) They were actively looking to hire more people just
15 days before the mass layoff
    6) This is not a place to develop and nourish your
career. The firm lacks vision and mission both and they
have no idea of what they are doing
    7) The cofounders lack professionalism and take
things personally. They can't manage conflicts well
and will stop taking to anyone incase they have any

and will stop taking to anyone incase they have any
difference of opinion on any work related topic
    8) If you think you are the "Yes Man" only then you can
    survive in this firm
    9) The whole codebase is legacy and the quality is too
poor. They advertise ML a lot to lure people but frankly
they dont use it at all apart from data cleaning and
    visualization
    10) I heard that they have started hiring recently so I
would urge all to stay away from this firm
    11) The firm advertises itself as a fintech startup.
However, it's just another small trading company
which utilises software capabilities. It doesnt build any
financial product which has an impact on the society

    Advice to Management

I only advise the management to stop playing around
with talented Indian Engineer's career. The cofounder
is an excellent Employee and an Engineer both but
lacks leadership and communication skills. He'll do
great career wise in any software/Trading MNC and so
should give up on his entrepreneurial ambitions.

    Pros

    Good young team
    Learning opportunities
    Good salary
    Minimum management

    Cons

    Too much pressure
Strange HR policy. Names are disclosed during peer review causing bad relations with team members.
Few people removed recently without severance and one was a good performer we all knew. Some team members uneasy after this and one already quite.

    Advice to Management

    Improve HR policy

    Pros

Great exposure to the HFT world. No financial background required. Your mathematics and computer science skills will improve tremendously. Lots of responsibilities and opportunities to learn.

    Cons

Probably a diverse experience would be better

    Pros

    1. We have full access to all parts of company. Very easy to switch between projects and move to ones we like.
    2. A lot to learn - There are a lots of things each guy works on. So we learn a lot.
    3. Freedom - No Boss.
    4. Like most other start-ups we can see our code directly running in live.
    5. When you are not in office, you are not in office.
    6. Very talented people to work with.

    Cons

Well, They are similar to pros - :-/
    1. Sometimes we directly get to run things in live. So should hold full responsibility of work we do. There is no one to test new work properly. So, might have to look at results in live and make immediate fixes.
    2. Freshers might find the learning curve too steep. May have to learn quickly to work at a rapid pace.
    3. Might have to multi task a lot.
    4. No boss, but every one knows what we are working on. No one forces any one, but we ourselves will be forced to keep up with others.

    Advice to Management

    More parties and events.
