RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Tyco
Pros
Great team of people - great opportunity within the organization and productive work environment always a positive intiative and meaningful work especially for those learning the operations of a business.
Cons
Some managers are inexperienced and take on personal feelings to determine how work should be conducted. Some of these behaviors are overlooked by senior management to appease employees with tenure. Needs more structure and better processes to make operations more effective. Communication is one-sided.

"Vital values are a joke"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Tyco full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Pay check at end of month. If you like being in the same job for 15 years with no job progression.
Cons
Senior management do not uphold company vital values even though company states it is the most important initiative that they have to follow. Mangament promotion and progression is based on favouritism and discrimination is rife. HR are in league with managers and only serve to cover up serious violations of employment rights and transgressions of the companies vital values programme. Senior directors on the vital values monitoring team turn a blind eye to clear violations of the programme by senior managers and would rather force long term employees to leave the company than actually hold the vilolators to account. Existing Job titles and positions are ignored when so called " department reorganisations" take place and thease are used as a process for managers to put in place people who are there current favourites. No prior consultation is made with the people in the current job positions, they are just expected to accept it as long as there salary is not affected.

Neutral OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at Tyco full-time
Pros
Better than average pay, excellent safety culture, pleasant co-workers, high ethical standards.
Cons
All the downsides of working for a large company without many of the benefits. For such a large company most sites operate independently without any movement across Tyco sites below the senior management level.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Tyco full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Great Peers and excellent technology. Learnt a lot during my time there. A real pity that they don't take feedback from some very experienced staff.
Cons
Inability to learn from mistakes. Senior Management selected on their ability to grovel with little emphasis on competency. Ethics very much touted, but only applies to avoid trouble with regulators. Very careless approach to project development. Accident waiting to happen.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at Tyco full-time for more than a year
Pros
Some good and talented people work there.
Cons
Company was constantly cutting benefits and staff. They wanted to outsource everything to India and did. I also found senior management to be unethical and would do anything to make themselves look good including violating federal regulations. I left as fast as I could! It was one of the most unprofessional places I have worked.

"Lost focus on the customer...false sense of value."

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at Tyco full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Unlimted opportunities, but beware. These opporunities may be because of the amount of restructuring and headcount reductions to meet finanical committments.
Cons
Tyco Installation and Services is behind the eight ball when it comes to field mobility tools. Competitors are light years ahead. IT support is non-existent. Senior management philosophy is do more with less. Though possible if investments are made in technology to streamline processes. Lastly, there is a false sense of their own value. They try to price themselves out of their financial problems with no regard for the market competition.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI have been working at Tyco full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
There are some really good people throughout the company; especially at the technician, support, and sales levels. There are always opportunities of higher positions as people are constantly leaving.
Cons
Senior management is clueless on what is happening in the field internally and externally. HORRIBLE SERVICE to our customers!!!! NO TRAINING (new or continuous besides some etools check the box type of stuff), have adopted Acclivus but only have budgeted for introductory class. Getting paid is a nightmare and understanding pay plan requires a degree in mathematics. Uses Salesforce.com as a forecasting, micromanagement tool only. Has no clue how to maximize on a CRM tool for the good of the external customer, not senior management. President of the company is a bean counter; not a strong leader at all. Its really an unhealthy place to work! Would never want my kids to work here; just not worth the stress and overall misery.
