What are your colleagues talking about?

Pros
Better than most of the ones any of my friends talk about. There's a healthy amount of leniency between most students and professors that leads to a very "chill" feeling to the whole place. Doesn't feel like anyone's after you, and really allows you to focus.
Cons
Same as a lot of colleges, to some extent. General education courses have no place in any curriculum.

I loved being a student ambassador

A lot of the staff is friendly, you get to meet a lot of nice students, it's close to the dorms so I don't have to travel too far to check-in. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.
Cons
Nothing that the school can really do for this, but, since you will be handling calls, you will have to speak to some unsavory people. But that is made easier by the boss, who, if you are ever struggling with a call, will swoop in to help!
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
They give you Free food Nice faculty
Cons
Low Pay Management- from top (corporate) to student services, the managers are completely out for themselves and put a heavy load on their staff.

Pros
Often feels like an extended family. Lots of support from staff. Medical benefits have been great. Don't seem to hold a grudge if you leave. Will often welcome you back if things don't work out.
Cons
Salary's do not compare to industry and therefore great staff leave for more money. Often push for "emergency" information but then never hear about follow through. Not many opportunities for growth professionally or to increase pay. Professors don't earn vacation time. Are expected to respond to students within 24 hours therefore basically working 7 days a week. Schedule mandatory activities during breaks making it hard to take time off. President of University seems disconnected.

Pros
Work life balance, great family environment of employees to work with.
Cons
none that I can think of.

Pros
Having worked at a Big 10 University, professional schools, community colleges and the like, nothing compares to working with the AMAZING teams at UAT. Moreover, having the privilege to support the best and brightest students, both in the valley and around the country, brings so much pride on a daily basis. There's no place I would rather be. In addition to the above, UAT earned the Greater Phoenix Chamber IMPACT Award, which is a testament to the core mission and values of the institution. These opportunities for service and giving back strengthen the core UAT family and the overall student experience. Giving to others has a positive impact on one's own well-being. While relieving stress, depression and loneliness, UAT leadership, staff and students are able to meet circles of new friends that have a positive impact on one's overall well-being. UAT is second to none in so many ways. There truly is no comparison.
Cons
Nothing to con about here.
- Former Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
None there is no work life balance, there’s no room for growth and you’re expected to do a lot while being understaffed and treated like garbage.
Cons
Managers look for their own self interests, the managers do not value their workers and that’s why everyone hates their job and people leave constantly.

I'm proud of where I work
11 Sep 2020 - Anonymous Employee in Tempe, AZRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- I've found a great group of friends and enjoy working alongside them each day - Working in higher education is fun because you see the innovative and smart ideas these students come up with. It makes me proud to work for a school where I know our students will be successful after graduation. - Medical insurance, STD/LTD, life insurance, and AD&D are paid for by UAT - 5 free meals per week from the onsite cafe (saves me so much money) - Casual environment where people work hard, but they have fun. It isn't a stuffy corporate environment. - I learn something new every day. I either learn something new about my role, or I learn something about the tech industry from various trainings that occur on a weekly basis.
Cons
- The pay isn't as high as I wish it was, but there are definitely benefits offered that help make up for an average pay grade.
