Not Worth Your Mental Health!
14 Oct 2021 - Resident Service Specialist in Washington, DCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Um, none really. Maybe just the spiffs given periodically
Cons
NO Support to the onsite teams, NONE like at all. NO work life balance because you are constantly on call since the temp concierges are not properly trained. So you work off the clock and for free basically. Upper management NEVER listen to the onsite teams. They will ask you to stop what you are doing to please greedy Jerry (the president of the company who is retiring soon) and then ask why you did not finish your other tasks. Employee layoff galore so that Jerry can take home a bigger retirement bonus leaving the employees left swamped with unmeasurable tasks and unrealistic expectations to get them completed daily with so little staff. Some properties even share staff. Upper management is rude, not helpful, cause a low moral and always plays favorites. UDR is money hungry, does not care for it's employee's or residents, just looking to make a profit. UDR thinks they can do onsite jobs remotely and hire contractors who do a half a.. job just to pay less employee benefits and cut corners. Upper management will literally give you anxiety problems. So glad I quit!

This is an absolutely horrible place to work. Disgusting company.

I don't work there anymore. Glad to be gone and looking forward to exposing the rampant fraud and predatory business practices.
Cons
They train employees to only be kind to prospective tenants and once they move in, they give zero service and are extremely dishonest. Very high turnover rate, poor upper management and corporate office is even worse. Practice predatory behavior and sexually harrass female employees.

Pros
Unfortunately there are less and less every day
Cons
It is so disappointing to see the SF team doing fun events and seem to be really enjoying team bonding time while our south bay team gets turned down for events or told to do it at our own expense. Especially when we see our supervisor in SF at their events! It is obvious to us that our supervisor wishes they were still in SF and could care less about making any effort to get to know us. I miss when upper management actually went out of their way to ensure our teams were happy and motivated. I've never felt so unmotivated and deflated in my time at this company.

Pros
Amazing manager, good commission, lots of training, kind upper management.
Cons
They are moving away from commission, completely changing the platform. have made many layoffs and plan on continuing the lay offs. they have a new platform where they are completely changing job descriptions. unfortunately lots of sudden and BIG changes. online sales people taking care of leads/ etc. they don’t let you know in advance of these changes but these people just jump right in.

Pros
Tests your character and builds experience
Cons
Escalations with residents can get very difficult and upper management don't realize how much the first line employees can struggle emotionally and mentally.

Mediocre At Best

Slight opportunities to grow within the company, but you have to be able to suck up to the right people and work the office politics.
Cons
Absolute WORST upper management I've ever dealt with and no employee appreciation that really matters. They will send you an email about how proud of you they are, then they will cut your commission.
