I worked at Uber full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Whether it’s getting people from A to B quickly, safely and affordably, or helping people earn a decent living driving or delivering food, or improving how companies and shipping partners move freight, or thinking about making transportation more accessible for people with disabilities, there is no shortage of transformative initiatives at Uber. Working with any of these teams solving problems at global scale can be an extraordinarily fulfilling experience.

    Cons

As in any other very large company, people who put themselves ahead of their teams or customers, can hide in plain sight under a curtain of often innocuous performance reviews and poor OKR setting and accountability processes. Also, many who were lucky enough to have a seat at the rocketship when Uber was in hypergrowth, ended up in positions for which they are often underqualified.

I have been working at Uber full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to collaborate, decent snacks, free lunch & dinner, monthly cell phone stipend, gym reimbursement, unlimited PTO, liberal family leave coverage, monthly Uber credits

    Cons

Beaurocracy; it can be difficult to get buy-in for projects even when they are desperately needed unless you can "sell" the benefits. Slow advancement/promotion and rigid feedback/performance process.

I worked at Uber for more than 3 years

    Pros

Since my tenure there for the last 4 years: -Added tip system -Added emergency button -Created Uber Pro Rewards, the more you drive, the more perks you receive, I used Ugent.ly to fix my flat tire ($75 service) for free, but it's not free anymore -After CA AB5 passed, revamped Ride Requests to make trip more transparent: shows pick-up & drop-off locations, estimated earnings, trip duration -Ride Acceptance Rate no longer works against you in qualifying for Uber Pro

    Cons

-Once deducted Rider Fare without consulting me, assumed that I didn't pick up Rider, returned fare after I contacted them with proof that I confirmed the pickup -Improvements for Drivers only made when the media narrative/current events forces them to
