      Good coworkers, bad management

2 May 2021 - Sales Teammate in Tysons Corner, VA

      Pros

It's easy to build camaraderie with other teammates, so you have fun working with people. The employee discounts are very generous. We received bonus pay and free merchandise during the pandemic, so the company cares somewhat about its employees. It's a decent side-hustle or first job, but you have to be firm about setting boundaries for hours and scheduling because they'll always try and ask you to work more.

      Cons

It's heavily customer-facing, so you will inevitably deal with hostile or frustrating people on a regular basis. The company is fairly stingy and will try and get away with asking teammates to dedicate much of their time and energy to the job--so that they work *almost* full-time--but still won't bestow any actual benefits or pay raises in return. I found certain members of management to be unreasonable and constantly chase sales at any cost--e.g. making employees come to work or stay at work during events such as power outages or snowstorms, when literally every other store around us in the mall decided to close and let people go home to be safe. Since the Tysons location is one of the top brand houses, you'll have the added pressure of frequent contact with/visits from corporate to ensure that the store is up to standards and high-performing.

Good Job Experience with Customers, Poor Management & Toxic Work Environment

17 Jun 2021 - Sales Associate in Chicago, IL

      Pros

Good opportunity to build your customer relations skills.

      Cons

Toxic work environment. There was a lot of favoritism, racism, and sexism at play. Management would pick and choose who they have sales opportunities to grow to based on how well they got along and not so much on performance. Male manages made inappropriate comments to female employees that were very degrading and disrespectful. Complaints were made and nothing was ever done about it because all the managers were white males that were all chummy with each other. Expect a "it is how it is" response.

      Pros

Most times a friendly working environment. Tons of ways to get free items.

      Cons

There is a lot of favoritism. Sometimes they pick and choose who is Actually doing work. Their employee of the month is very biased. And everybody is engaged in sexual activity with each other
