Pathetic Company ---- Optum (UHG)

Pros, i can't think of any here. You can work from home.
Cons
1. Absolutely No work Life Balance, these guys in the projects needs constant overlap with teams in US so you have to be on call in nights. They say you start late but they will put meetings in Morning and say you can take it from Home. 2. Variable Pay, you wont get your variable pay on that cycle, if you joined company after 20th Sep. So they will gulp your 5 months' variable pay. Also variable pay is never given more than 80% here, neither they will pay your arrier. 3. Dull people, absolutely dull people with no enthusiasm everyone is dead here. 4. Car Parking, they wont give you car parking if you are anyone less than Grade 29, so you can't even drive to office if you want park 1km away from office and pay 20rs per hour. 5. Outdated Technologies, the technologies used are from 2004. 6. Average age of people in this company is 40. I am having 8years of experience and I feel like a fresher here. 7. Notice period, ridiculous notice period of 90days. Seriously they call this a product based organisation. This is my first review on Glassdoor. And Optum is my 4th Company. I would like to tell you only join this company if you love absolutely nothing about your current job, because you will regret in every possible way after joining this company. Don't trust me if coming to give an interview have a look at yourself.

Thank you for writing a review and I absolutely understand your concerns. The leadership team does take employee feedback VERY seriously. With the implementation of change and to address feedback, a lot of different teams are involved and that does take time, especially when it needs to be done well the first time around. We will take your feedback and will share it with the correct departments. Best, Mohit S.- Sr. Talent Community Manager, UnitedHealth Group.

This organization makes you lazy...
16 Jun 2014 - Software Engineer in HyderābādRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
1. Work Life Balance. 2. Work From Home Facility (depends on your manager/policies within portfolio) 3. Numerous Leaves 4. Nice Cab Facility
Cons
1. Idiot/Unqualified Management (especially mid level) : They don't have any skills neither technical nor analytical. They lack in communications as well (specialy frm ggn and noida side)...Hats off to the recruiter... 2. Instead of having a gud leave structure they won't allow you to take any...They will tell you to do work from home and try to give you as many work in that duration so that you can not have fun with your family members...Horrible trick for torture... 3. Max amount of ur CTC is stuck with them as Variable. So its ur Manager's call to give you that money or not....There is no transperancy in that...They can hold your amount without giving you the proper justification or proofs...And sadly there is no hierarchy to approach for this act... 4. There is no pattern for performence evaluation process...Employee have to accept the rating their Manager gives...There won't be any acknowledgement required from Employee side... It's kinda dictatorship...You have to accept what you manager is giving....

Company progress and employee benefits going down, No HR, Great transport
17 Nov 2018 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
1. In case of emergency they offer work from home 2. Excellent transport facilities. 3. Offers to learn new technologies and move to different teams
Cons
1. Manager say is final and he/she has HR responsibilities. No preference to real HR and also no. of HR's are less. 2. Employee pay is not private. Managers can literally view the employees pay and decide how much to increase. So high chances of bias. 3. Company progress is declining as the company has become product based to service based company resulting in cost cuttings effecting employee salary benefits like hikes, Variable pays, awards, team outings, company celebrations year by year. They used to be great and this decline is now resulting in increase of attrition rate. 4. Not good at retaining talent. 5. Poor foreseeing of basic infra requirements. Failing to provide basic necessities for employees. No place to sit as well park own vehicles. 6. Company works hard to improve itself but unable to prioritize the primary ones that employees look for 7. Company budget problems causing employee careers downfall
