      Pros

      - Salaries for post docs is high compared to other universities in UK. - Has its own careers service with very useful courses for extra training. - Certain research groups have very diverse expertise.

      Cons

      - Zero job security, although this is usual in academia. - Some dishonesty - broken promises from certain members of staff - Snubbing within groups i.e. people believing their research is better than others - Terrible mental health management (just check news in the last few years). - City has an instant kerb appeal at first but becomes boring quickly.

      Pros

A supportive and encouraging research environment. People are open to interdisciplinary collaboration.

      Cons

There is little job security for postdoc, while this is not the problem for this Univ. but the problem for the whole academia.
