    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at University of Hertfordshire full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Flexible working, good holidays, sense of achievement if your job entails contact with end users (students / lecturers etc.)

    Cons

Overly bureaucratic environment, where meetings happen for the sake of it, rather than with any clear purpose / accountability / direction. Expectation to still meet deadlines (that you have no influence over) and to attend all meetings (that you have no influence over the frequency of, or the number you're conscripted onto), with no overtime. Managers are paralysed from being able to make decisions due to too many layers of management (no single layer of management can make a decision on its own, seemingly, forming a combination lock & delay / barrier to any progress).
