      Pros

My comments are based on my experience whilst working within Registry. - Great culture, friendly environment (when working within the office) - Currently working from home and management try to keep teams well connected through meetings and virtual meet ups. - Friendly and supportive colleagues, some of which have become good friends outside of work. - Management are supportive and down to Earth. They care about well-being and mental health especially through the current pandemic situation. - Great pay and staff benefits. Stable employment. - Flexible working which helps maintain a good work/life balance. - A couple of teams really motivate their staff to progress in their roles. - The university seem to be doing well with students still applying to courses, even through the pandemic. - The above results in staff staying with this company long term.

      Cons

      - There are reviews and restructures every 2 years that can be demotivating and worrying. - When first employed, lack of hands on training. Lots of information overload on the first day of both employments within the university. Left to figure things out a lot. Not great for those with anxiety. We don't need mothering but a structure in place where you learn the basics of the role you are employed to do with an induction. Saying that, asking your colleagues questions and raising difficulties with your line manager will be heard. - Parking isn't great and will be much worse when the permit system comes into place.

      Pros

Most colleagues are pleasant and put their heart and sole into it. Work, life balance is fair.

      Cons

If you are good at your job you are given more and more to do with no extra renumeration. Little performance management of those who under perform. Professional services staff aren't appreciated as much as academics in terms of benefits.

      Pros

Full time work means around two hours each day and free summers as there is no need to do any research.

      Cons

Awful systems, no leadership, too many managers too scared to manage. Promotions given to ‘yes people’ and no real opportunities for development.
