Being on call is what causes many social workers to quit . It’s not compensated well and appears they abuse their social workers to be on call. If you are a 24 hour company then you should hire employees for after hours instead of using your full-time staff. Even if you are on call during the week they still expect you to work your regular shift. If you were being compensated well then maybe it would be better but you are almost making less than you would regular pay to be on call.
