I have been working at Vibrent Health full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have worked at Vibrent Health for almost a year and it has been so rewarding. Each day offers new challenges and opportunities to help grow and develop the company and its staff. I’ve enjoyed establishing new policies and procedures, implementing a standardized performance management system that will now allow employees to receive timely feedback, and this month I’m rolling out leadership training. All fun stuff for...

    Cons

Not that I necessarily feel that this is a con, but we are a quickly growing company trying to establish a strong foundation so there are moments of frustration when something is not already established. Sometimes it takes time to create new programs or implement new changes.

    Advice to Management

With so many new developments, employees like to be kept informed, so providing as much transparency as possible is helpful.

I have been working at Vibrent Health full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Because the company is relatively new, there's room for ideas and growth. As a team leader, I am given many opportunities to suggest new ways of doing things, and the leadership is receptive and appreciative. The company treats people well and is generous when it comes to things like sponsoring social events - with beer on tap, wine, food, etc., and the kitchen is stocked with snacks. Salaries and benefits are good,...

    Cons

Need more meeting rooms. Sometimes there's no choice but to meet in the bike/treadmill room or in an open lounge area.

    Advice to Management

Keep pursuing perfection, and those who want that type of environment will gravitate to the company.

I worked at Vibrent Health full-time

    Pros

Close to major highways. Snack offerings.

    Cons

Strong culture of blame and mistrust. Instead of challenging the issues, people target other people(Dev) using inappropriate words. In daily meetings, an individual is targeted to such an extent that he/she may not feel part of the team/company anymore. Naive product and people management team. Scattered processes across product and people management, failed to understand the technical aspects of project. ...

I have been working at Vibrent Health full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Coworkers are all very smart and easy to get along with. Most people have really interesting professional backgrounds and mean well. 401k match, free snacks and coffee.

    Cons

Despite multiple efforts to improve communication across the company, it is just horrible. Projects and priorities change on the fly, so you end up running in circles trying to get work done. Sometimes your efforts and work don’t matter, because without warning, management has decided to cut the project. The company also seems to lack direction in general. One day they’re a health technology company, another day just...

    Advice to Management

Stop justifying short comings by referring to the company as a start up. You have millions and millions of dollars from NIH. Be honest with potential employees in job postings..the stream of funding is up in two years, not five. Listen to your employees, let them exercise their judgment and skills! They’re smart people. By not doing so, you risk losing the best ones

Thanks for taking the time to write this all out. We’re so sorry to hear about your experience, and it's exactly the opposite of what we want for you. Public berating is not something that any employee should ever have to go through. If you have a moment, please stop by the HR office.

I have been working at Vibrent Health full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The people you work with are nice, smart and great to get along with. Sadly they are burnt out, tired and probably headed out the door.

    Cons

No flexible work schedule unless you're a developer, if you're in any other part of the company forget it. You'll be micromanaged, have to ask for permission whenever you need to leave early or work from home. There is no upward mobility, no path for growth. Most importantly there is no product, you'll hear a lot of talk about "being a product company" but there is no actual product that a customer can purchase and use...

    Advice to Management

Focus on product development - I mean actually creating something meaningful, with actual market analysis and fit. You're people are miserable, while you're busy hosting meet-ups and having the CEO speak at forums work on retaining people, with simple changes like giving them sick leave, or more vacation, or actual work from home and career development.

I worked at Vibrent Health full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    401K contributions, location, snack offerings

    Cons

This company is run by three of the most incapable executive managers I've ever worked with. The inconsistencies in policies and expectations from day to day, along with terrible communication make the most basic tasks impossible. Morale is low, turnover is high, and there's always a sense of "walking on eggshells". It creates a very uncomfortable work environment.

    Pros

Great ideas, solid funding and a convenient location in Northern Virginia

    Cons

    • Antiquated product design thinking • Development approach is neither effectively agile nor innovative • Aggressive micro-management culture from the very top down • Some contractors and vendors faced verbal abuse or were refused payment for work they delivered on time, and that we used • Seriously, the boss has intense anger and trust issues
