It’s not just another media company. The content Vice puts out makes a difference, and it’s socially & politically aware. Empathy, strong work ethics, respect, compassion the company focuses on these as the values it stands by.
Cons
More often than not people burn out in the first 18 months. There’s always a budget crunch when it comes to hiring, and you are expected to do more with less. Any region outside the US isn’t given any importance.

Incredible opportunity for learning the industry/content production/storytelling Creative freedom, can make stuff you really care about, great brand Throw you in at the deep end and kickstart your career in the best way Make tons of great contacts that will help move you in your career
Cons
Poor upper management / bad communication Incredible levels of job instability and insecurity (wake up every morning not knowing if you'll have a job) Not much room for growth, takes a very long time to be promoted and when you DO get promoted, they won't give you much more money

Pros
Brand name, PTO, Decent health care, not the Worst place I've worked
Cons
Very clicky. Poor management from the higher-ups. Management is so out of touch and tone-deaf workers are also tone-deaf. You should never bring up grievances, people have gotten fired shortly after bringing up an issue during meetings that were supposed to be an open space to ask questions. Say they care about mental health but they only care as far as saying the right things and making a banner or something. Don't expect a raise or bonus if you aren't in higher higher-ups. and try not to look at other people's salaries...cause the money isnt going to the general workers. They're disorganized in general but then surprised when things hit the fan. If you don't fit their ridged mold they won't even look you in the eyes; they'll act like they don't even see/hear you, even if you're right in front of them. They'll look right through you. They're not creative or fresh. they lack diversity. They will look you in the eyeballs and say that they have a hard time finding POC/Black creatives, in NYC! the boomers need to stop trying to appeal to GenZ - it's cringe. Workers often talk over or interrupt or won't even let POC get a word in. Even other POC will treat POC kind of crappy. They'll try to micromanage and then sabotage you if you make an error - mountains out of molehills. Just, don't expect any sort of support or direction. There's nothing in place for training, onboarding is a joke. They expect you to "manage up" which means you'll have to tell/ask your managers or supervisors about whatever in order to learn it. Even if you keep telling them "I don't know what I don't know" cause you’re new. No room for growth, especially if you're POC. Projects that should have POC leading the team don't even bother to diversify. They expect you to be available all the time, you'll have to respond to messages/emails regardless of what time it is. They don't pay their vendors on time and act like years of mismanagement were your fault (they look for a scapegoat) I couldn't hide my facial expressions when people higher-ups, superiors and other long-term employees would and WILL say the most pocket and insensitive things during meetings. DEI initiative is really just a facade.
