Pros

The only pro I can think of is that you get to gain experience in the sales and marketing field.

Cons

I felt like Viogee was very deceitful and used the bait and switch tactic to sell their selves to potential employers. They twist their wording around in interviews to make their company sound ten times better than what it actually is. What you see when you walk through that door is a fancy office with everyone dressed in casual business attire, but the reality is that it's not even their office and everyone changes into their Verizon shirts and tennis shoes as soon as they leave. What you're seeing is just a show and it's all fake. Another thing I didn't like was that this company had favorites. They fired a guy for being "too aggressive" out in the field, but yet their top sales rep is way too aggressive and even harasses customers out in the field. I felt very belittled and unappreciated for my hard work because they were always being buddies and praising the favorites. I worked just as hard, maybe even harder than every body else and it didn't pay off at all. I stood in Walmart for hours with sore feet, talking to as many people as I could, but never got rewarded with anything. The payment is absolutely terrible. With their twist of words in the interview, I thought I was going to be making an hourly pay AND a commission pay. Not one or the other. I'm sorry, but you need a reality check if you think someone can live off of $500 a week, especially your employees with children. $100 of that pretty much goes into the gas that you don't compensate for your employees that bring money for your business. You will also never have a social life. The only day you get off is a Wednesday and they still plan little events on your one day off. And if you can't make it to team night one night your job is basically threatened saying "you don't want to network and build relationships with the team." They take it really personal for some reason and get up all in your business asking why you can't make it. I have missed so many events with my family because of this job. I thought this would be my first real, professional job since graduating college but nothing about this business was professional. Almost 99% of their employees are young and immature and would talk about people hooking up within the office. It's also unprofessional to advertise an HR Assistant position when it clearly isn't. Bait and switch tactics are illegal so I don't know how your business is still running after posting false positions on career builder.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. To address your comments I would like to be clear on a few of points: Yes, this is our office. I’m not sure how it was misunderstood- I wish paying rent was a “reality” that I could ignore, but alas those are the responsibilities of running a business. Part of our responsibilities require that we meet with our client, part of our responsibilities require that we meet with customers. We dress business professional in the office and when talking with customers we wear the uniform our client requires. I don't want to condone aggressive behavior because that is not tolerated but in my experience I find that motivation often gets confused with assertiveness. Out of respect for former employees we do not always disclose the reason we part ways. To say someone was fired for being "too aggressive" must be your own assumption, however, it is the wrong one. I will simply say that was not the case. Our compensation guarantees an hourly amount and commission allows our team to earn more and is a great incentive to promote good work ethic. Similar to if someone were to work in retail, lets say Nordstrom's, the associate gets paid hourly and if they help customers buy products they receive a commission on those products; which is great because the more they assist customers the bigger their pay check will be. Also, many of our account executives make more than the $500 you reference because we do not cap the commissions. To be “rewarded” with a paycheck sounds like winning the lottery. We do not give handouts, but we are committed to training others to be high performers. What's unfortunate is when we try be welcoming and offer new employees team building opportunities and instead are branded as being "all up in your business". We do our best everyday to provide a great place to work with a fun company culture. At the end of the day not everyone will be a perfect match but it's something we're continuously trying to improve.

Pros

Everyone was very friendly, and typically someone buys your lunch when you are new.

Cons

They do not tell you that this job is standing in Walmart for 8 hours a day selling internet and cable. If you want to make any kind of money you are going to have to work 6 days a week with no overtime. You will have to use your own car to drive to the Walmart's each day which varies between 2-4 hours round trip so half the money you make goes back into gas and tolls. They tell you that you'll become an account executive within a year or less but you begin to realize the few long term employees still working have been their for 3+ years and are still not account executives and will not be anytime soon. I started with about 4 other employees and none of us work here anymore. If you want long hours, long work weeks, miles on your car and standing in Walmart interrupting shoppers this is your job but I would suggest just directly working for Verizon if you want to do sales. Leaving Viogee led me to a job that I love being at, so I am not angry that I had worked here I just wish they were more honest upfront.

Thank you for taking the time to talk about your experience and congratulations on finding another opportunity! I am a little concerned with the disconnect between your experience with us and our company's goals, focus, and what we explain to all our team members. I am extremely proud of the clients that I am able to represent and the revenue that we provide for them. As an outsourced company that is in partnership with a Fortune 15 client, and the Fortune 1 client, I would say that is a worthwhile business opportunity. Yes, we do thoroughly train in sales, this is a necessary and fundamental aspect of the business world. Yet, this is only one aspect of the training and development we provide on a pathway to a management position. Although your time with us was short, I would expect that there were opportunities for you to grow professionally, if only at the beginning stages of our management training program. Lastly, Viogee, Inc. just recently celebrated our first year anniversary! We do have team members that have great experience with representing other companies in an outsourced capacity, but again there is a bit of a disconnect with your statement of having "long term employees" of 3+ years. The "account executive" position is where we start everyone to learn the basics and is brief- the duration of this first step is short if an individual has any potential for management representing one of our clients. It is also our overall belief here that having long-term professional relationships, built upon strong business foundations, is our exact goal.
