I worked at Virgin Holidays Limited full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great travel benefits High performing and talented people Amazing culture and a brand with big ambitions

    Cons

Salary is lower than average for the role (given the number of benefits offered) Being based in Crawley means that there's no opportunity for social outings Lack of career progression opportunities (as people generally don't leave once they join)

I worked at Virgin Holidays Limited full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The only good thing I saw at Virgin holidays was the travel benefits. However as you'll see there's an issue with that as well. ( good luck affording it in the first place)

    Cons

So, where to start. The Training at Virgin Holidays is abysmal and does little to prepare you to sell a holiday, they drag you up for a two week course near gatwick so you'd think the training is intensive... it's not, it's boring, irrelevant and innacurate and done with little effort. In regards to management you won't know who you're supposed to answer to. If you're lucky you'll have an expert in your concession, if you're don't well you'll make tons of mistakes and be held accountable for it even though you have no one to help. Salary wise you're on minimum wage... Commission I hear you say!? good luck hitting your unrealistic target!!! Oh by the way you're actually applying to work at a Tesco, Sainsbury's or a house of fraser... but you'll get a 6x6 box area that says virgin on it so you can pretend... Management by the way is constantly changing, They're ruthless with letting people go, including the management so don't be surprised if the negative 1 to 1's feed down to you. So yeah, if you're happy to be on 15k p/a for a full time 9:30 to 6:30 job and work weekends.. umm go for it?

    Pros

Lovely product to sell and amazing travel benefits which is the only reason people stay.

    Cons

Unrealistic targets, people not treated fairly. Constantly left working on your own covering concessions that are open until 8pm or later.
