I worked at Volkswagen Group of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some people are nice - very smart; snacks, drinks, access to their cars

    Cons

Dieselgate says it all. There's that much pressure and greed that unethical business practices flourished. You can't change that type of culture overnight. It will take years. Very idealist words about their culture, but in practice, it's very much top down. New leader from Germany every 3 years - the current one destroyed a lot of good will. Don't go.

  7. "Great product, questionable management"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Volkswagen Group of America full-time

    Pros

Great products. Large scale/impact of decisions.

    Cons

Germany runs the show; concern over how ethical the mid-level managers and global executives. Regional executives seemed to be good/ethical, but there was a disconnect above and below them.

    Advice to Management

    Do the right thing.

I worked at Volkswagen Group of America full-time for less than a year

    Pros

None that I can think of. Everything including salary and benefits is below average.

    Cons

Compliance and HR department being useless, women and specially women of color should simply STAY AWAY from this toxic misogynistic environment. Close to nil women in leadership positions. Women to men ratio in the entire company is a joke. People in this company don’t realize that a garbage is a garbage even if its in a Lamborghini. Lack of professionalism in this company is astounding and so is immaturity. If you are a male chauvinist, welcome aboard! Opportunities abound!

    Advice to Management

Hire men and not boys who did not have a good female role model in their families. Boys in this company are truly threatened by strong and independent women. Mindless training on diversity is not going to make the company diverse. You need to address the root cause and make significant changes if you truly want real diversity. Stop making foreign service employees heads of departments. They lack knowledge of local rules and regulations and need constant baby sitting. They should not be in leadership positions! Hire local talent!
