Pros

Not much apparently. I've been to WAES office only two times over the year for very unpleasant talks.

Cons

When the customer decided to shut down the project they didn't allow me to search for a new job on my own. But my one year contract was about to end and it was really stressful situation because then I would be deported from The Netherlands. WAES was treating me with some specific contract clauses if I will find a new job and will start working for a new customer on my own. They never proposed me another project or extension of the contract. Everything is good when WAES have money from you, but when project ends - everything changes. Turnover in the company is huge. Nobody from devs who joined 2-3 years ago is still working here.

Thanks for your review. Honestly... we're kind of surprised by this review. We, at WAES, only provide permanent contracts for our consultants. Please feel free to reach out to us via info@wearewaes.com.

Pros

- Very good on-boarding process. The team responsible for receiving the consultants is very dedicated and attentive. They help you very well in the process of adaptation to the country while in their office - Good entry point in Europe

Cons

- Too much marketing in a company that don't do what they show on well made videos - Some things that they promise, they don't deliver. You stay a lot of time in bench, and the first project that they find for you to have interview, you like or not, you will be pushed to do it, where they give you random excuses in why you have to pick it up - The idea of being free to choose where to work is marketing - Sales has a huge delay on allocating people in projects in a market that is full of opportunities around - Non-sense work time control systems - Once you are on a client, you are completely forgotten - There are a situation where a consultant were pushed to work in a client, even he living more or less 4 hours from the place. More consultants had similar issue, having to work far away from their homes, opposing with what they sell with life balance - Lacks of allocation process. They sell that they will look for housing for you, but this doesn't happen. You have to do most of the things by yourself, unless you keep asking for help every time.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We really value your thoughts about our company, so we can improve ourselves. WAES is still a young company, and we’ve realized that in 2020 some things were not how they supposed to be. Of course, we can partly blame this on the COVID-situation, but we want to clean up our own backyard first. In the beginning of 2021, some drastic measures were taken in the internal WAES team. Harsh words have been spoken, and actions were taken. Looking at the future, things are going to be different, and are different already. We’ve realized the importance of focusing on doing what we like doing, and what we are good at: hiring new software & data engineers, obtaining the best projects and helping you grow on a professional and personal level. Thanks again for your insights. This really helps us in becoming a mature organization.

Pros

Good as starter company in Europe

Cons

- awful cliente base - too much time on bench - everything good told about cafeteria system is a bs, it was made just to get off the former good benefits and spend less - sales is ridiculous amateur - financial is as amateur as sales - they always talk about company being good in finance but first opportunity they had they fired many people just arrived in Europe because without a single interview - after you are allocated in a client, forget about proper attention

We are very sorry that your experience at WAES has been anything less than exceptional. 2020 has been a difficult year for WAES, for multiple reasons. We’ve realized this and noticed we needed a change, to move from start-up to scale-up. From the beginning of 2021 a lot of changes in the organization have been made. These changes are focused on making WAES a great place to work for again. Our team is fully focused on hiring new software & data engineers, obtaining the best projects and helping you grow on a professional and personal level again. And of course, having fun together while doing so. We want to thank you for your review, this helps us in becoming the organization we want to be.
