Former Employee - Laboratory Technician in New York, NY

I worked at Weill Cornell Medical College full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Was part of a fantastic and caring lab

    Cons

  3. "Great place to go to grad school"

    5.0
Former Employee - PhD Graduate Student

I worked at Weill Cornell Medical College full-time

    Pros

Many wonderful faculty to work with, great student body. There are a handful of faculty that do not have great reputations amongst the students--talk to older students to learn who to watch out for. Lots of opportunities to learn.

    Cons

Just the usual challenges of academia, nothing unique to Cornell.

    Pros

    Cons

Non-faculty academic staff have few protections against unfair supervisors. Compensation is very low for entry-level positions despite high cost of living in NYC.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No Opinion of CEO

I have been working at Weill Cornell Medical College full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Sick time ,vacation, tuition reimbursement , paid holidays

    Cons

Men are paid far more than women. You are expected to learn over 70 physicians preferences and the rules for 10 different departments . If a slight error is made by someone else or if the physician feels that you are wrong the blame is brought down on you rational or not. You can ask leads for guidance as to why you were wrong, but they are unable to explain themselves and are quick to team up to try to get you fired. Room for growth is also nonexistent. If that's not bad enough half of the nurses are unresponsive and physicians are very rude to schedulers. Working at the call center is like a game of cat and mouse. If you have medical experience, please dont work there. You can do better than a 1-3% yearly raise.
