I worked at Westpac Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Staff credit cards, big brand name, chance to move to other roles

    Cons

Overworked, politics, red tape, unfair pyramid system structure, subtle racism, low pay, and head office has better perks than branch level

I have been working at Westpac Group for less than a year

    Pros

    Nice offices and facilities.

    Cons

Too much red tape, politics, silo working, focusing on the wrong things, middle management not effective in their roles, each to their own, no team effort, no prioritisation of efforts. Westpac compass and values is preached but not adhered to.

    Advice to Management

Support your people and talent. When your staff calls out wrong behaviour or issues blocking the team from doing their jobs and providing best outcome for the customer - then step in and make it right! Know the Westpac compass and act accordingly. This is relating to a compliance project which doesn’t seem to have any support from business units who should care. Listen to your staff and act on it! Defend the compass...
