I worked at Wilson Elser full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

PTO. Handful of people are cool.

    Cons

Run as far and as fast away as you can. You do not want to work here. Management is a joke. Very unprofessional. The turnover is as bad as it can get. There one day. gone tbe next. Backstabbing, from the attys to the staff. Horrible tonic environment. Please listen to my advice. I’ve worked there for a while. No good.

    Advice to Management

Self absorbed. Wouldn’t listen if you gave it.

I worked at Wilson Elser full-time

    Pros

Possibility of varied and interesting work depending on location.

    Cons

Billable hours are the idol of this firm. Policies encourage intense competition for hours and revenue generation, resulting in overworked and stressed attorneys and staff. That, in turn, leads to what is generally an unpleasant environment. If you desire any level of work-life balance, this is not the place to achieve it.

    Advice to Management

Focus less on maximizing profits for the few at the top and more on quality, culture, and lifestyle. You'll still make plenty of money, and you'll realize greater stability and a more desirable environment.

I worked at Wilson Elser full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Tons of support staff, some great lawyers, lots of resources.

    Cons

If you work for a bad partner, your life will be miserable. Most associates last less than 2 years unless they want to commit their lives to WEMED.

I worked at Wilson Elser full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Generally, they do a good job of hiring individuals who’s personalities mix really well. The company also matches 6% for your 401k, and you accumulate 1 day of PTO your first year, and it increases from there.

    Cons

There is little to no motivation for staying for a long period of time and the turnover is way higher than it should be. If there were more incentives or activities in the office it would make a HUGE difference in the employees (Staff).

    Advice to Management

Speaking with people from the attorneys perspective to the administrative staff, the general consensus is that there was a sense of favoritism from management, and the appreciation wasn’t shown as often as it should have. I would suggest for Management to actually listen to concerns from employees and act upon them.
