    Waste of time and energy

    Pros

It´s easy to get quite a lot of responsibilities. Within weeks an intern can get to be in charge of rather large projects with 10+ employees. Don´t expect to get much credit for your work though. Volleyball on thursdays is fun and they have a new cool office and free club mate.

    Cons

It is a very unprofessional environment. They clearly have no idea of where they want to go with their business model but keep testing new concepts randomly. Information is constantly lost as interns come and leave and the same project gets started again and again with the same misstakes being done. Sometimes they even forget about a project that was done half a year ago and decide to start it up again from scratch. There are a lot of nice and competent people but the general feeling is that no one really believes in the company. Different departments dont seem to know what the others are doing and projects are seldom being run by the same person for more than a few months. As an intern I didnt get any feedback talks, introduction or education at all, I was just cheap labor. The salary is low compared to the hours you work and the responsibility you get. However, they seem aware of most of the problems and are taking steps in the right direction. Most of the time it is too little and too late though.

Overall disappointing internship in Business Development

    Pros

    - fun and relaxed environment in some departments - a very small percentage can get into leading positions despite very young age and almost no experience

    Cons

    - lets be honest: it´s just a copycat - a very small percentage can get into leading positions despite no age and experience Compared to a lot of other colleagues of mine I was lucky enough to see and get various insights into different departments, unfortunately nearly all of them involved dull, boring and very repetitive work. Wimdu hires a lot (A LOT) of interns every month, unfortunately they are all overqualified for the work they´re doing, which logically results in demotivated and inaccurate work in most of the cases. They take advantage of being a cool, innovative start-up in a hip city with a, admittedly, very interesting product and therefore attract a lot of applicants from all over the world, but they should choose interns, whose tasks and responsiblitly match their age or education. No wonder a lot of interns quit their contract before it finishes. There are a lot of multi-cultural and fun people to meet and loads of occasions to have a beer or two, but if you seriously want to learn something, maybe you should take another look around.

Lots of responsibility, lack of structure

    Pros

If you prove yourself you get a lot of resposbility and continuously get to work on interesting projects. Plenty of room to come up with your own projects/ideas. Nice colleagues.

    Cons

Lack of structure: The company is still very much of a startup with bad info-sharing between departments and a lot of inefficiency. There is no company culture and the vision is a bit blurry. Be prepared to work with people that only care about the paycheck and have no interesting in putting in extra hours or effort.

    Pros

A lot of funding Team activities Free soft drinks, juices, water, coffee and Club Mate You are able to take over a lot of responsibility if you prove your capabilities You can learn and move a lot and get actively involved (but that depends on you of course!)

    Cons

Transparency could be improved but CEOs are working on it A bit more coordination between different project teams would be helpful Some internal communication could be improved but I've already seen improvements when I was there

The company is a start-up, so not perfectly organized, but I learned a lot and people are lovely.

    Pros

As first work experience you can learn a lot because you have responsibilities from the beginning of the internship. People in the company are really nice and make you feel comfortable all the time.

    Cons

After three months you have learned what you had to. To keep in growing you have to change position in the company - my point of view is the one of an intern.

    Intense, fast-paced start-up experience

    Pros

You're always pushed to your limits and given a lot of responsibility early on. If you show you're good, you'll climb the food chain. Great place to be involved in a lean approach to business.

    Cons

Bit too much monitoring and micromanagement for my liking. There's some really intelligent people at Wimdu but sometimes they don't get the room to realise their potential.

    Pros

Company still small enough, possibility to work with C-levels executives Well recognized in the start-up world: good experience on a Resume.

    Cons

The company is sometimes facing difficulties because of the competition and the saturated market.
