    Pros

I work with a great team locally with great exposure to the industry and many chances to write across all verticals

I have been working at Womens Wear Daily full-time

    Pros

Its the third job I've had and its the best workplace I've experienced so far

    Cons

Legacy publication that is still struggling to navigate digital, not accelerating to online as fast as it could

    Advice to Management

Hire more web producers (focus on promoting the amount of content currently produced instead of hiring new reporters to produce more content that ends up buried and is not moving the needle) and grow the email newsletters

I have been working at Womens Wear Daily full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The new owner Jay Penske has a great vision for the company and really understands that this 100 year old publication needs to adapt to a changing media landscape. He has tried to hire and bring in new blood to change the old regime, but the old newspaper guys fight him behind his back. The new offices are beautiful and located right across from the NY Public Library near Bryant Park.

    Cons

The newsroom is unorganized with only a loose set of reporter beats. Reporters continually duplicate story coverage because of a lack of communication within the newsroom. There is NO daily reporter meeting, only 1 editorial meeting that excludes many reporters. Most new hires leave within 1-2 yrs. Advice to Management
