I have been working at Workday full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Workday as a whole is wonderful. It invests in its employees and works to keep them happy. Many perks and benefits are unmatched! There are some really great people that possess the skills, work ethic and overall joy that makes Workday a great place to work! I love this company!

    Cons

The company protects bad management. There was a big push to have an HR presence in SLC, but this has quickly fizzled and turned out to be nothing but disappointing. HR rep is friendly, but is afraid to address issues head on. From my experience, and other managers in the office, HR expects YOU to solve the problem. Although serious issues are raised, it seems that they are not interested in creating any real change...

    Advice to Management

If you’re going to have a local HR presence, bring people who are not afraid to get their hands dirty and fix the problem. Don’t put it back on those seeking HR’s help. HR: Take employee concerns seriously. Toss out the bad managers, the ‘nice, but...’ managers, the ‘micro’ managers or you are going to keep losing good employees or seeing more posts like this on Glassdoor. You can save this office yet!

I have been working at Workday full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Workday is an amazing company and has really invested in their employees. There are lots of benefits such as exercise studio, free snacks, fitness expenses etc. but that isn't really what makes the place great. There are more than 1200 employees now, but it still feels like a small company as everyone is so friendly. The senior leadership in the Dublin office is great, and you really feel like they care. This is the least...

    Cons

Workday is an American tech company so it's unsurprising that a lot of colleagues are based in the US, but there is the usual feeling of the US team looking at Dublin like it is a bit of a backwater. Accommodations are made for meetings etc with the West Coast, but a lot of the VPs seem totally culturally unaware about international people in the team, and it feels like recognition...

    Advice to Management

Amazing place to work, but better cultural awareness around the EMEA team would create a more solid team environment. European people don't usually ask a lot of questions in meeting. That's not through a lack of engagement, but because we understand presentations just fine without additional explanations. At a recent summit a C-suite leader referred to the EMEA team as the 'offshore team' - that's not how we see ourselves!

I worked at Workday full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Workday RSU, ESPP, 401k , Salary is above industry standard

    Cons

Worst managers, too much politics. Too many worthless people from Oracle who brings their friends even they can't do the job. Blame game is all over. Too many levels of managers. Company is still not profitable! Managers talk/ criticizes about employees looks in their own language which is non English. No HR or HR is a joke. This whole company is a joke. They hire HR for QA Engineers work. Now you understand the standard...

I have been working at Workday full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    * Culture * Work-Life Balance * Caring Management Team * Great Talent Pool * Career Growth and Development Workday is really good at finding peoples' strengths and fitting them to positions that enable them to be their best. It's a win-win. I have been with the company since January of 2013 and I have to say, this company is the best place I have had to privilege to work for. I'm looking forward to continued...

I have been working at Workday full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I would say the best part about Workday is the culture and the people. Although it has only been a few months since I started working here, I have already experienced a lot of fun moments with my Workmates and a few accomplishments as the cherry on top. Fun is always encouraged, there is no micromanagement and I personally was given complete freedom and control over my work, projects and tasks. Great opportunities for...

    Cons

Like any company growing at this speed, change is constantly happening. I personally like it, so not really a con for me but it could be a con for some people depending on their character. I would've loved if the cloud cafe was fully subsidized but not really that important of a detail. No other cons come to mind.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Do not let anything change the culture of the company. I love every moment at Workday and my Workmates!

I have been working at Workday full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I came to Workday as a new graduate, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. In addition to great salary, benefits, employee programs, etc., the characteristic that really sets Workday apart is the people. The whole company really feels like one huge team, which I think is pretty rare, especially in contrast to other companies. There's a ton of trust, and the management structure is super supportive while totally...

It would be awesome if there were a few more options for subsidized meals on the Pleasanton campus, but the snack program is totally free + provides almost anything you need.

I have been working at Workday full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Workday has an amazing culture. I've never been on a team that puts their differences, opinions, egos, and desires to the side like they do at Workday. They are inclusive, constantly looking for new ways to involve everybody, and frequently give their employees a chance to bring their passions to the workplace. For example, one employee had an affinity for shelter pets, so they put together a series of events, activities,...

    Cons

It can be very stressful to get your projects launched. Luckily, management receives additional training and they know when to pump the breaks or push the gas. After voicing my concerns about a particular project, my manager took immediate action and we came to a resolution.

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at Workday full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Workday has a great culture of teamwork and kindness. From what I've experienced since starting here, there seems to be a minimal amount of politics and ego issues. Work life balance and work hour flexibility is great.

    Cons

Compensation is fair but not as competitive as other companies in the bay area. This might be because it's based in Pleasanton.

I have been working at Workday full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Ive been working at Workday full time, for four years. There are a lot of benefits to the role, and excellent company leadership, but the company sometimes falls short on being tone-deaf to what the employees actually want, such as clear individual growth paths.

    Cons

The company has an incredibly ridiculous promotion path. For example, when you are promoted from an individual contributor to a people manager, you move to a lower title. For example, I joined as a manager, was promoted to a senior manager, and when I gained direct reports, they moved me back to a manager. Next, instead of moving into a director role, I have to be promoted to a senior manager again, and then into a director....
